Hunger-forming enterprise

As one would expect, every abomination has now begun to be attributed to the crisis, regardless of whether this abomination was caused by the crisis or not. In the Primorsky village of Svetlogorye, people eat potato peelings that are left over from the potatoes they give to children. That's it - they have nothing else to eat. For some time they were still given food on credit from nearby stores, but sellers also cannot endlessly sponsor buyers - they themselves need real money. Now stores are denying food to Svetlogorsk residents. In order to somehow get money, they go to the forest, where they spend the whole day collecting some medicinal roots and handing them over to certain entrepreneurs for 200 rubles for the entire catch. In Moscow, for 200 rubles they can refuse to give you a lift to the next street...

Naturally, the crisis is blamed for everything. They talk about the sad fate of all city-forming enterprises and the cities subordinate to them, where all the eggs are put in one basket, and if the basket is leaky, then... They remember how, at the end of the Soviet years, “closed cities” fell into decay. The “village-forming enterprise” in Svetlogorye is “Russian Wolfram”. The demand for metals has fallen, it is difficult for the enterprise, it has completely stopped. Accordingly, the workers have no work, no salary.

In fact, the crisis in this case is not only not the cause, but not even the reason. Just last summer, people in Svetlogorye were starving. Then - of your own free will. The hunger strike was announced due to non-payment of salaries for many months. The plant paid out only three salaries for the entire last year. And the last 5,000 rubles were added in January. At Wolfram, God knows how long the property division has been going on. Shareholders divide the package. What they don’t actually share, the devil only knows, and that’s not the point. The point is that they don't care about workers. And the regional administration is ready to do something only if the enterprise becomes state property. Therefore, even before any crisis, all appeals, petitions and other appeals by RV workers led to absolutely nothing. And the hunger strike, by the way, too.

And in October the plant shut down. And now, when the crisis is in full swing, it is almost impossible to start it back, especially with complete uncertainty with the owners. This weekend a rally was held in Svetlogorye. They threatened to disperse him with riot police - apparently as extremist. But then they thought about it and decided that the riot police were no longer afraid of people who subsist on scraps and spend days in the wilderness for 200 rubles. The authorities have arrived, but the measures they propose are vague, time-consuming, involve part-time work, complex retraining, etc. And most importantly, it is still not clear who owns or will own the plant. The amount of debt is amazing - 9 million rubles. The price of a Mercedes in the top configuration. One Mercedes.

They see a traditional solution: the state should help. Buy out RV, pay off debts, start up an unprofitable enterprise again. For now, let Shoigu carry stewed meat and warm blankets by plane, because only the Ministry of Emergency Situations has all our hope when a natural disaster happens somewhere.

But I want to repeat once again what I wrote in the article about children. Residents of Svetlogorye are lucky. Because they are in a terrible situation. They weren’t paid a salary for a year, and no one knew. And now, even more so, this should not surprise anyone. And hunger strikes are nothing new for us. But when people reach the very edge, having gone through all the circles of hell, only then there is a chance that they will be noticed in Moscow, shown on the main channels, and written about in the newspapers. And maybe they will be helped in some way.
