In the State Duma, where the faction of the party in power has long been famous for luring away representatives of other political forces, an unexpected precedent occurred. Member of the State Duma Committee on Defense Nikolai Bezborodov decided to move from the United Russia faction to the Rodina faction, led by Vice Speaker Sergei Baburin. Colleagues did not dissuade the deputy and granted his request. Bezborodov kept silent about the reasons for his action “for ethical reasons.” His application to join the Rodina faction will most likely be considered tomorrow.
