It seems that the cavalry fucker of Gazprom into European markets will not be successful. And he is crowned with a monstrous scandal. The trouble came from where they did not expect: the US government initiated an investigation in order to find out the origin of Rosukreenergo. The very one that is from the New Year is an exclusive supplier of Russian and Turkmen gas to Ukraine.

The US Ministry of Justice wants to understand what individuals (in financial circles are called the beneficiaries) are the real owners of this newly -made monopolist. On this occasion, several questions arise at once. First: what is the matter of a modest Swiss company, albeit with a very decent turn? Second: why did they publish their intentions at the very beginning of the investigation? And finally: what all this is related to the desire of Gazprom is incorporated into the European gas distribution business. Let's start in order.

Having initiated the attack on Gazprom, the United States makes it clear that they will by all means counteract the global expansion of the largest Russian company. I dare to assume that this opposition can be very effective. But most importantly, the demarche of the American government is a direct hint of the Russian side: we are categorically against a large -scale growing Gazprom into the world economy. Do not hear a hint - get an international corruption scandal with unpredictable consequences. It seems that this tough warning is directed to a specific person. Namely, to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The special piquancy of the situation is that the warning was done in fact on the eve of the Great Eight summit in St. Petersburg, undoubtedly, the main foreign policy event in Russia this year. One must think, the Americans already possess information that not everything is clean with this very Rosukrenergo. Moreover, it can be assumed that they have data about the involvement in this structure of persons from the immediate environment of the Russian president. Otherwise, why would they start this scandal, which actually smacks of blackmail? To just bring any secondary corrupt officials to clean water? Small for the US Ministry of Justice.

Experts have long drew attention to the fact that the main strategy of the Russian authorities regarding the largest state companies is the maximum incorporation of them into international business, turning into transnational companies while involving well-known Western top managers as leaders of the highest level. The goal of such a strategy is obvious-to “blur” the business historian of domestic corporations, “tied” the Western business community and thereby limiting the possibility of large-scale international investigations in relation to these companies in the future. Well, at the same time, to prevent the role of the role of senior officials of our country in various kinds of corruption plots.
