The completion of the investigation in the case gives hope that the trial will not be too delayed. And then, I would like to think, the accused will be released. Alas, there is little hope for an acquittal; the court, despite serious charges, can award a sentence that does not involve imprisonment (in extreme cases, it can be awarded “until time served”).
Noteworthy is the new pre-investigation check launched by the Investigative Committee, already under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code. This is obviously not about bringing new charges for the same actions, because... this is directly prohibited by law, but what the conservative Orthodox Church previously asked for
the public - about persecution under Art. 282 “everyone involved in the case” - all kinds of public statements related to the Pussy Riot action. Such a case may include entries from the group’s official blog (then the current defendants may face new charges for this), as well as statements by other people actually or supposedly associated with the group.
One can only hope for the common sense of the Investigative Committee staff. Group cases under Art. 282 are extremely difficult to prove, especially if we are talking about anonymous
posts on social networks. It's easier not to get involved. But not everything depends on the will of the Investigative Committee employees: the Pussy Riot case has clearly already moved into the category of those for which decisions are made at the political level.
