The leader of the St. Petersburg branch of the Yabloko party, Maxim Reznik, has been nominated as a candidate for the post of party leader. As he himself said on the air of Ekho Moskvy, his candidacy was approved late on Tuesday at a meeting of the bureau of the St. Petersburg Yabloko. After Mikhail Amosov withdrew his candidacy “for personal reasons,” the St. Petersburg Yabloko members unanimously nominated Maxim Reznik.

The Yabloko congress will take place on June 21-22. Party leader Grigory Yavlinsky, speaking last Sunday at a meeting of Yabloko’s federal bureau, said that the conflict between “moderates” and “radicals” should be resolved at the congress. According to him, supporters of a platform that does not receive the support of the congress will have to leave the party. By radicals, apparently, they meant the St. Petersburg branch of Yabloko. And it is possible that the leader of the youth “Yabloko” Ilya Yashin, who also announced his desire to participate in party elections.

On the eve of the meeting of the federal bureau of the party, the Moscow Yabloko condemned the party members who participated in the National Assembly. They were accused of "causing serious political damage to the party." This decision will also be discussed at the June congress.
