A regular participant in our project “After”, lawyer and political analyst Vladimir Pastukhov (included by the Ministry of Justice in the register of foreign agents) writes :
“The thesis of a hundred years ago about the winning collective boor is again relevant than ever. My observations suggest that the demonstrative manifestations of this rudeness are not so much natural and spontaneous in nature <...>, but are imposed on top consciously and purposefully.
This is a policy, and this policy has clearly marked goals - the destruction of the usual cultural space. Now the culture as a whole <...> is perceived by the regime as a threat. Accordingly, rudeness is considered as an antidote of culture. <...>
The criminal prosecution of Evgenia Berkovich and Svetlana Petriychuk is the same signal to society as the destruction of Meyerhold and Mandelstam at one time. <...> The offensive will be conducted throughout the humanitarian front with a wide strip.
<...> rudeness activates the most archaic structures of the brain, releasing the most primitive instincts and stimulates the most superficial <...> associations that a civilized person is accustomed to keep “locked up”. <...>
Today, the state in Russia purposefully carries out division not only in the moral, but also in the purely cognitive range of culture. The media controlled by the state is brought down to society by a stream of rudeness <...>.
Insults, humiliation, boasting, envy and hatred - this is the new moral code of the builder of the “Russian world”. Sometimes it seems to me that the Kremlin “Temniks” for media are written by the same people who create the masterpieces of the Leningrad group. They are all about how to drink in St. Petersburg. But there is a parody and postmodern, and here - completely seriously and socialist realism.
<...> what is happening with Russia is the same “abolition of culture”, which Vladimir Putin loves to talk about so much. In this sense, there is a significant difference between the International Bolsheviks of the first wave and the National Bolsheviks of the last wave.
The former carried another culture with them, they, in spite of everything, were a lost spark that flashed from the fire of European education. It was a strongly perverted culture of Art Nouveau. The latter lit their torch from forest primitive barbarism. After them, only charred land will remain, in need of long -term reclamation. ”
