Philosopher Sergei Zhigalkin (“a friend of Dugin and Dzhemal” - the Kazan newspaper Business Online introduces him ) offers his version of the deep goals of the SVO:
“...still, there are two points due to which Russia’s victory is desirable.
The first one is like this. Currently, the West is incredibly sophisticated in controlling the mentality of citizens and countering trends that could lead to a revival of spiritual guidelines. Western propaganda does not act violently, but through complex rhetoric, pseudo-polemics, as a result of which people begin to consider what is instilled in them as their own thoughts, desires, beliefs and hopes. Those who do not lend themselves to such treatment are treated extremely cruelly. The society is extremely totalitarian, there is practically no freedom. And there is essentially no chance of changing anything. You either follow the general flow, or you are antisocial, marginalized. And that's the best case scenario.
Oddly enough, it is different in Russia. There is more freedom here. Much bigger. There are many levels, plans of communication, you can always find a circle of people with whom you can have any conversations without thinking about any censorship. Propaganda in Russia is too simple, one-dimensional and does not touch complex, serious, especially metaphysical topics. They mainly persecute oppositionists who attack the government. I don't care about the rest. It is clear that they are left alone not out of humane or any far-sighted considerations, but simply because they do not feel threatened by them. Poets, philosophers, artists, writers, esotericists, musicians, sectarians and others - they simply don’t give a damn. However, we feel, we know that among many people of uncontrollable ideas there lies a hidden power, a real one, which somehow, someday, may yet break out to the surface. That is, somewhere, sometime and somehow in Russia, a hole may form in the homogeneous body of the current paradigm, through which a wind from the other side will burst in, capable of capturing humanity... Maybe this will not happen, but there is a chance. In the West, this chance seems to no longer exist...
And the second point is the following. In case of victory, Russia will not exactly become a banner or an ideal for other countries to follow. Russia will remain itself - such as it is, but thereby it will become a good example of the fact that it is still possible - to remain itself. And other countries, inspired by this example, will also, I believe, want and try to remain themselves. And these will no longer be colonies, but a multipolar world.”
