Megaliths

There is so much that is incomprehensible and unknown in the world, nature creates its own picture, man changes it to suit himself. What was created in ancient times cannot always be studied today. Scientists continue to argue, for example, about the creation of almost perfect ancient Egyptian pyramids.

The purpose of megaliths today cannot always be determined. Scientists believe that for the most part megaliths were used for burials and their construction was somehow connected with the funeral cult. Their construction of megaliths presented a most difficult task for primitive technology. A huge number of people were required to create even one of these megaliths.

Not all megaliths are made of stone; there are also metal structures, for example, the complex in France at Carnac, created from 3,000 stones. It is an important ceremonial center associated with the cult of the dead. Other megalith complexes were used for astronomical purposes. It is assumed that they were created as a kind of prehistoric observatories.
