Last year, the St. Petersburg Museum of Contemporary Art began the Russia in Erart project, aimed at developing and spreading art of different regions of the country. After the "Samara landing" to Petersburg, an exhibition of works of modern Perm artists "(without) conditional reality" was brought to Petersburg.
Vera Bartova “My Light, Mirror, Say” by the organizers, curators and artists participate in press conferences, round tables and presentations of cultural initiatives, the result of which can be further cooperation. Museum workers are convinced that the thickets of such exhibitions will be held, the more likely it will be possible to avoid the centralization of all contemporary art in the main cultural centers and learn more about the views of representatives of different regions. The reviews received after the first exhibition of the project, which opened in August 2011, strengthened the opinion of the organizers that the creation of Russia in Erart is the right and even necessary for the development of the culture of St. Petersburg. Now Perm artists tell about their “(without) conditional reality”. All exhibits of the exhibition show life without embellishment, revealing its household sides. The street on the most ordinary day, the acidic colors of the city and broken windows at the height of the weekend - everyday life has become the theme of paintings and installations. Maxim Kaykin, Alexander Grekov, Maxim Titov, Anton Semakin, Ivan Lukin and Alexei Zalaev, Rustam Ismagilov and Olga Subbotin - participants not only of Perm, capital, but also international exhibitions.
Maxim Titov “One evening in Moscow”, in addition to the work of modern masters, “Erartians” visitors also demonstrate the “historical part”-paintings by artists of the 1970s-1990s. The embossed household figures of Mansura Zakirov, depicting people who can be found on any street, scenes from the life of his native village - the favorite theme of the artist Rudolf Tyurin. A comparison of the works of modern Perm artists and the older generation makes us think about how the consciousness and representation of the inhabitants of Perm about the surrounding world has changed in several decades. The curator of the exhibition Anna Suvorova believes that the influence of the culture of one region on the plastic images of all Russian art is inevitable.
- Each region of Russia has its own sovereign features, which are displayed in mythological subjects and the history of cities. The representation of the art of other cities allows you to see new, sometimes very unexpected turns of the art of modern Russia.
The organizers of the project have already chosen the following land in Russia, which will help Petersburgers to make a more complete cultural picture of their native country. In July, Siberian artists will bring their works, November will be held under the auspices of the southern regions of Russia. And Permyakov can be observed in Erart until April 8th.
