On February 24, the Volgograd portal V1 said that the Security Council, held the day before, decided to ban any protest in Volgograd. As Polit.ru found out, the regional opposition does not know anything about this. And today, several hundred people gathered at the walls of the regional administration, protesting against the resignation of the mayor of Roman Grebennikov.
“A message about the ban on all demonstrations has no reason. Yesterday's Security Council only spoke about the ban on unauthorized rallies, ”the press secretary of the Volgograd Region Administration explained. He added that it was precisely today near the administration that “some unauthorized rally” was held, but “no one dispersed them by force.”
Why it was necessary to discuss unauthorized shares, the ban on which already acts in Russia, the press service was not specified. It should be noted that in today's action, not agreed with the administration, about two thousand people took part. They opposed the dismissal of the mayor of Volgograd Roman Grebennikov.
In the ranks of the regional opposition, they have not yet heard about the ban on demonstrations, but they are also ready for such a turn. The chairman of the regional Yabloko Galina Boldyrev told Polit.ru about the long -standing confrontation of Grebennikov and the governor of the region Anatoly Brovko.
“Formally, Grebennikov was resigned for failure to fulfill court decisions. But I think that the main reason is that he and Brovko have not had a common language for a long time. He was often indicated that he was communicating with non -parliamentary parties, such as the Apple, ”said Boldyrev. According to her, the Volgograd mayor was often warned that he would not go into politics and engage in economy in the city subordinate to him.
The head of the regional “Yabloko” did not hear anything about the ban on rallies.
The member of the Political Council of the “Unified Russia” Roman Grebennikov was elected mayor of Volgograd in 2007, and he was removed from his post last Tuesday. Berko, meanwhile, takes the post of governor a little less than a year and, as local media reports, has long been conflict with the Volgograd mayor. Grebennikov intends to appeal the decision of the head of the region in court within ten days. Now he himself is on sick leave.
The editor of the Volgograd.ru publication Roman Merzlyakov believes that Grebennikov was removed in order to free the post of the city manager of Volgograd.
“The conflict began with the previous governor. Most likely, this happened because Boro wants to put his man on the post of City Manager, ”Merzlyakov suggested. He also did not confirm information about the ban on rallies. According to him, the governor only asked citizens not to take part in inconsistent events.
Today, the inhabitants of Volgograd promised that they would rally daily for the dismissed mayor.
