Deputy Sobchak

Ksenia Sobchak said on Saturday at a meeting with voters in St. Petersburg that she was going to participate in the elections to the State Duma, which are scheduled for 2021. At the same time, she admitted that she has no chance of winning the presidential election.

“When the elections of [president] end, I will begin to form my movement. I have already joined the Civil Initiative party - if we agree, I will do this with it, if not, then I will make my movement. I will go to the election to the Duma - this is my next goal, 2021, ”Sobchak said, answering the question of further plans.

According to Sobchak, the presidential election is now an alternative for those people who want to express their position, but do not want to participate in street actions. She also said that she plans to vote in the presidential election in 2018 in Moscow. “I will vote in Moscow, at the place of registration, I’m registered there now,” Sobchak said.

Earlier, Sobchak has already said that she was not counting on victory in the presidential race - but she did not previously declare her desire to participate in the Duma elections. Although she promised that she came to politics seriously and for a long time. However, one of the candidates in the past presidential election, Mikhail Prokhorov, was also going to build his political party, but he failed and now he was not engaged in politics.

Meanwhile, the Central Election Commission finished checking the signature sheets in support of Vladimir Putin. 315 thousand signatures were handed over to the CEC, the audit took the inspection of 60 thousand, only 232 were recognized unreliable. The results of checking the signatures for Putin were informed by the deputy chairman of the CEC Nikolai Bulaev on the eve. The whole check took less than a week.

Most likely, the Central Election Commission will register Putin this week. He will become the third registered candidate - earlier, Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Pavel Grudinin were registered, they did not need to collect signatures since they were nominated from parliamentary parties.

At the check in the CEC, there are also five more candidates. In addition to Ksenia Sobchak, the signatures were handed over by Grigory Yavlinsky, Boris Titov, Maxim Suraikin and Sergey Baburin.

Note that the CEC has already published the first financial report of presidential candidates. It shows that it was the most on the collection of signatures by Grigory Yavlinsky: his headquarters spent 196 rubles on one signature. Further, with a large margin, Sobchak (42 rubles), Titov (27 rubles) and Putin (14 rubles) go. Maxim Suraykin and Sergey Baburin “got” almost free (7 and 3 rubles apart, respectively).

From the same report it is clear that Suraykin and Baburin are also the “poorest” candidates, they have almost empty election accounts. How they are going to conduct a campaign is incomprehensible. However, they have not yet been registered.
