However, the Sunday meeting did not last long, only three minutes. She was interrupted by Sargsyan himself, from which Pashinyan demanded to resign.
“The political force, which received 7-8%in the elections, has no right to speak on behalf of the people. What you offer is blackmail. You cannot blackmail the state, ” Russia Today quotes the head of government.
However, he considers his substitution differently. He told reporters about this during the rally.
“Let us not scare us with bloodshed. I represent hundreds of thousands of citizens of Armenia. The "velvet" revolution we declared supports the support of 90% of the country's population. Serge Sargsyan should immediately resign. If they do not want problems in the field of national security, he is obliged to resign. I am sure that the people will achieve this. I am ready to discuss with him the resignation and change of power, ”the Armenian News Agency quotes him.
Nevertheless, Pashinyan and several of his supporters were detained by the police during the procession along the street of Artsakh. There was a skirmish between the security forces and demonstrators. The information about the detention of Pashinyan was confirmed by the Caucasian Knot correspondent from the Elk bloc Sasun Mikaelyan, who tried to join the leader of the Civil Treaty party during the confrontation.

“Protest leaders Nikol Pashinyan and Ararat Mirzoyan, who are in the police sites, called on people to take to the streets. Opposition forces accused him of ineffective work and worsening the economic situation in the country. Nevertheless, the parliament chose Sargsyan to the post of head of the Cabinet of Ministers, after which the protests intensified.
Mr. Sargsyan himself said that he would be “ready for other tasks” only after it ensures the safe development of the country and reaches a “decent settlement” of the Karabakh problem. This is stated in a special appeal of the head of the Government of Armenia on the official website .
