If something extraordinary does not happen, his government survives its last month. The current prime minister himself promises to resign when the parliament takes a package of measures to stabilize the European economy, agreed with the European Union.

In addition, supporters of Berlusconi lost the majority in parliament. Only 306 out of 630 deputies and the government voted for the financial report of the government on the eve, thus, already lost the support of the majority in parliament.

Berlusconi also promised that he would not participate in the next elections that could take place in February.

True, the economic “domino effect” - for example, the mass default of Pigs countries - has not yet happened. Even Greece, Europe, is still managed to keep on the "apparatus of artificial respiration."

But the process of political bankruptcy is launched. Following the Greek government, Italian fell. The only question is who will fall next.
The problem, of course, is wider - today is seriously the question is how and in what format of the Eurozone the crisis will survive in general. And whether the "united Europe" will remain in principle. However, the fate of the individual prime minister is quite remarkable.
Firstly, Berlusconi does not declare that he will not affect politics. He remains an influential or even the most influential businessman in the country. His property is not an example of a modern Russian tradition - no one is going to take away. Influence on the party, it is likely to preserve it. Of course, the risk of judicial persecution is increasing, but so far the Berlusconi has managed to avoid the worst outcome, even without being as a premiere.
For the premiere post, we recall, he was returning twice. After a relatively short-term reign in 1994-95, Berlusconi again became the prime minister in 2001, and in 2008 he again won the elections with the left, which lasted in power only a year and a half after the defeat of the right in 2006.
During the crisis, any government - and the probability of coming to power of the left - will be extremely vulnerable. The political consequences of taking measures for stability, which can lead to a deterioration in the life of the population, are poorly predicted. However, it is obvious that after the failure of the next government on the basis of the economy, Berlusconi can - purely theoretically - try to become the prime minister for the fourth time.
True, he is far from young, in September of this year he turned 75 years old. But no one can give forecasts, how much the next government of Italy will pass. Italy is not Russia, although it is possible to sit “three terms”, but it is impossible since the fall of fascism - to have almost unlimited power for one and a half decades.
But Berlusconi still remains quite popular, despite all the scandals and friendly dislike of the left, a politician.
His extravagant statements remind the Russians a mixture of Putin with Zhirinovsky, and love affairs are worse than the Kurzhavel leproses of Mikhail Prokhorov (Berlusconi, however, is seriously inferior in the Forbes rating , occupying only 118 positions), and still many Italians treat him with sympathy. Otherwise, he would not become the largest long -lived at the top of Italian politics after Benito Mussolini.

Direct associations with another long -liver and popular politician Vladimir Putin are hardly appropriate here.
They were often compared, finding many common features. Yes, Berlusconi controls television channels and is very influential. Yes, he is a political long -liver. Yes, he more than once allowed himself various kinds of statements “on the verge” and even beyond the line. But he obviously did not trample democratic institutions in the country with the passion with which Vladimir Putin did it, and he lost the elections. Any of his political and economic errors immediately became the subject of criticism of the opposition - criticism of loud, sonorous and electorally significant.
Finally, Berlusconi is quite ready, without fearing for the fate of the country and give their personal fate to give power. Vladimir Putin and, by virtue of personal qualities, and due to the political system of personal power built by him, is deprived of such an opportunity.
