The lies, debts and the criminal world, which fell in the web, descended and unfortunate, Andre (Zhamel Debbuz) decide to take accounts with life. He is already ready to jump from one of the Parisian bridges, when he suddenly sees that the girl (Rasmussen), he also wants to commit suicide nearby. An indecisive protagonist passes forward a lady, who calmly rushes into the Sen. Andre - jumps after and saves a stranger. Getting out of the water, a failed suicide in irritably throws: "Damn, they do not let them die calmly." So there is an acquaintance with a girl who will subsequently become his good angel. The plot of the film would be completely banal if the rescued was really not an angel. That is, from the sky.
True, the Bessonian angel somewhat resembles a demon or at least the famous "Nikita". The main character of the new film is not only charming, but also has heroic power, fights perfectly, insanely sexy and can calmly work as a prostitute to get money to his unfortunate ward. Which does not prevent her from being sentimental, tender and loving. The character of the heroine is not contradictory, not complicated, but contrast. Like her appearance. High blonde. In a black dress. With white wings.
The film itself is also shot in black and white format. Commenting on this technique, the director said that the lack of light helps him play in contrasts: female - male, internally - external, black - white. But this is not the main thing: “The color is often cruel, and my new film is not cruel,” Besson remarked. And indeed, deprived of colors, Paris looks not only romantic, but also gentle. And insanely beautiful. Neither the Cathedral of the Parisian Mother of God, nor hay, nor the Eiffel Tower, nor numerous bridges just need color. The city is already dazzling. The main characters do not need color, whose faces are often shown close -up. The facial expressions of Jamel Debbuz and Ramussen is so expressive, painted in such different tones that the real "color" is just resting here.
In general, from a visual point of view, the film is brilliant: the high and stately Rasmussen is very reminiscent of a revived sculpture - and real stone sculptures in large numbers here and here flickered in the frame. Here is the main character in her black dress stands in the room. Behind her is the marble sculpture of an angel with white wings. At the very end of the film, on the back of Angels, living wings grow up, and she soars into the sky, along with her Andre, who, grabbing the slender legs of her lover, tries to return it to the ground. For a few seconds they soar in the air. Large white wings on a black and white background. Maybe this is very sentimental, or tragic. Or, conversely, irony is hidden here. Or a symbol. It is possible that everything is present in this scene. But the main thing is very "cinematic", and therefore beautiful. Through monging - the heroes will collapse into the water.
At a press conference preceding the premiere, Luke Besson told the story that happened to him during the filming of the Blue Lagoon. It was in Peru. Eliminated to a height of four thousand meters, a train with a film crew, was stopped by a detachment of either bandits or rebels. The leader did not want to miss the train and wanted to know who was traveling and why. He was answered that these are just filmmakers. "What is the movie about?" the Peruvian asked menacingly. And he received the following answer: "It will be a movie about the dive, who really wanted to become a dolphin." The leader realized that the future film had nothing to do with his struggle, and ordered the train to miss. “On the face of this courageous and ignorant person, one could read respect for art. The very phenomenon of art,” Besson concluded his story.
If someone wanted to ask the director what his new film is about, he could well answer the following: "This is a film about an angel who really wanted to become a man. And for this he became a dive." In general, the shortest review of the film would be called, of course: "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nhhd
