The building of the regional state administration (the former regional committee of the CPSU) is called Odessa's cube of Rubik for associated with a world -famous toy, albeit in gray halftones, design. It was designed, however, long before the small color namesake. I was still a kid, and we, penetrating through and through the fences to the construction, climbed along the huge, not yet lined and not equipped floors of the basements and multi -kilometer underground corridors. They ended, like Vysotsky’s wall, but the times were no longer shot: a concrete wall with an iron bomb shelter. And behind her, apparently, a bow with the next move. Towards the headquarters of the military district (less than a kilometer in a straight line), the sea (two kilometers) and even in unknown sides. The Center for Public Administration is like.
The square in front of the cube turned out to be a large, but some uncomfortable, folk festivities did not take root on it. Soviet demonstrations still took place in the former, Stalin building, regional committee. The Duma Square of the beginning of the 19th century is even more elegant and comfortable for the soul, on it and now the city executive committee (and demonstratively with his back to it is the founder of our whole, including dissidentity, Pushkin), but it is small for an almost millionth city. These are three places where sharp forms of the Maidan democracy happen in Odessa: crowds, OR, blackmail, concerts of pop groups, displays, stands, "between the stands are obliquely"
Today, at the beginning of March 27, 2006, on the night after the elections, when the official data of the election commission is still far away, I walk around these places. Emptiness and silence. Yeah, here at least something ... at the half-twentieth night for the far backward of Kulikovo Paul, behind the old regional committee (symmetrically bringing from the railway station) I see a chain of blue-white banners. I run up - I managed. "Auto Roundwall" is a promotion of the Party of Regions. We rode around the city and doused the whole campaign, I interviewed them, some remember me. They plant it in the car, and for another forty minutes we ride not only in the center, but in all more or less decent areas on the near Outskirts, where something can be. And nothing! No Maidans!
- Our car racing is no longer agitation, but not a protest.
- It is we express our joy that the party of regions gained the maximum number of votes. And what, not announced? There were already ec-regions on the Internet. At 18.30 throughout Ukraine there were 28.8%, in the south - 49% for the Party of Regions. And if the CEC announces that not 28, but 18? Then I will get a machine gun out of the basement!
- Yes, stop!
- And we are always ready, like young pioneers!
- The people were waiting for these elections as a second coming.
- People, does someone have a chewing gum?
- What do you want to fly? Ears?
- And in the Western region there are many already against the Listen.
- And still, most of the population in the southeast.
- Once upon a time there was such a song: "We are peaceful people, but our armored train is on the back of the way."
- The option is that other elections will declare than the ecsit regulations, not the last ... But I would like to believe in the best. In principle.
- It will be the most offensive if again they are falsified and again "our Ukraine" will leave on a white horse.
- And then all the forces of the opposition will find a leader who will lead to the barricades. There is still! It will not be Yanukovych, so there will be Vitrenko, there will not be Vitrenko, so there will be Shufrich. Someone will still be!
- Vitrenko in Kyiv is already making Maidan! She has 18 percent of eczit regulations. And according to the forecasts of sociologists - it was 2-3.
- Probably, she did not pay sociologists, did not spend money in vain. She is smart, she is well done.
- She, sorry for the expression, rushed around Ukraine, like a wounded lynx in the ass. Such as her, and there should be a revolutionary leader.
- And if they declare the results wrong, then next to the flag of the Party of Regions on my car will hang "Merry Roger".
Only six cars. And do not buzz - night. The episode is generally insignificant. Passers -by in the center - youth - sometimes wave their hands in greeting and shout: "Yanukovych!" One exclamation is different: "That vi, pus, Cloptso, with a stupid z '© Hali?" (Subt. "They have gone crazy, lost common sense" - Ukrainian) . The ratio of exclamations is quite consistent with the electoral layout.
The state made a maximum possible to stir up the voter’s brains and complicate the elections. Each received 3-4 "sheets" with lists of 40-50 parties-to advice of all levels. In addition to the list of parties, there are still a lot of text in ballots. Even if you know exactly "your" party, it is difficult to find it on the list. Everyone took time for everyone, in the cabins stuck out, as in the toilers during an epidemic of cholera (Odessa remembers this - in the 70th year) ten minutes. Many, looking at these lines, simply left the sites. Many hoped that, as usual, it would be easier in the evening. Yes, nothing like that, as if not vice versa. As always, when "many people think that it will be better." At a quarter ten in the evening of the crowd in polling stations were even more than in the morning and day. It is absolutely obvious that tens of thousands of people will be between tables, cabins and urns at the time of closing non -voting. The law says that it is necessary to close at 22.00. And when to stop issuing the ballots, if an hour goes to vote for the already issued? Nothing is said about this. Such a procedure as “asking me not to occupy”, despite the end of socialism, is still found at the box office of the universe. But the election regulation does not provide for it.
In Odessa, quiet. At half a night in the Macondo cafe, where the Odessa LJ-Juaser is hanging out, a quiet jazz sounds and you can still hear something about politics, the other way, between “well, when you communicate with a person personally, and when in Frendolent ...”.
The abundance of election campaigning was built on the numbers in the list. They were raised for better memorization, they came up with mnemonic methods of memorization, wrote on bigboards, in newspapers, on the posters they depicted a happy person at the urn with a large number on the ballot. Number - Advertising - Marketing - Association - Party. Even a sensible person in such a bustle ... And how many percent of the electorate are older people, and the percentage of turnout in the elderly is higher. In different ballots, the same party has different numbers. And almost the entire advertisement implicated the number in the Verkhovna Rada, and not in local councils . And how many people put a checkmark in other ballots against the same “” number? I heard twice how the grandmothers tried to clarify this particular issue from the commissions, but those under the close ear of observers were forced to say "sorry, I have no right to advise you." I am sure that after the final counting we will see this new political phenomenon: in local councils there will be more votes for those random parties, the numbers that, during the draw, coincided with the favorites.
At eighteen hours on TV and radio they announced 49%of the turnout, it might spent people. At 20.00, the turnout amounted to more than 58%. On the CEC website, as of the calculations at 05:37 in the morning, the turnout is almost 70% in Ukraine and more than 60% in the Odessa region. This is a fantastic percentage for the apolitical Odessa! In the past "elections", despite the whole hysteria of the "revolution", in Odessa came to the urns for a little 50%. It seems that for practical Odessans a blow to the pockets and stomachs that occurred during the year of the "orange" rule, turned out to be much more sensitive than revolutionary calls for national "Svidness". However, or propaganda was better. Or there are more dead souls ... Everything is possible in this world ...
About six in the morning. I'm writing. The neighbor saw a negligent window, went in.
- So you don't watch TV? And I look - what an abomination! No, not “Inter” (through the Inter channel, which is accepted by all, both cable and etheric, antennas are pre -promised grandiose all -night show). Let's see together! With each new announcement of the Orange more and more votes!
So said the TV, and he created such an impression in a very sane person, with an analytical warehouse of the mind, a candidate of technical sciences of the former Soviet “defense”. What can we say about the people easier?
Before me on the screen, no, not a telik, but the monitor is the official website of the Central Election Commission. Of course, my television colleagues are not so arrogant as to dull. In the first place, da But, with only small "but", which the TV skillfully hides (I once again asked my neighbor to clarify: yes hides) 0.4% of the ballots were processed. Yes, and it is clear that such full -length ballots will be processed for a long time, not for the night - for sure. On the Internet it is clear that even the Echo of Moscow recognized the victory of the Party of Regions. But in our neighbor, the cable network (the largest in the city) at Yushchenko turned off almost all Russian television channels.
About three in the night of Odessa time (about four in Moscow) I once again passed and tried on all potentially protest points. Touch the detailed plates of the direct broadcast next to the minibuses of television men - I was not alone waiting for the event. I still think that the Maidan in Odessa will still be. But he is ahead, and there will still be something to write about. Duma Square is fenced by turnstiles, a fire engine is carefully standing nearby, police are walking, but they are allowed to pass without even asking for certificates. On the Kulikovo field, only one protester - stone Lenin. Everything, ending up a walk, go to drink coffee and knock on the keys. Closest from my house, a five -minute walk, the empty (not counting the cops) the square in front of the cube.
The Rubika Cube consists of 26 small cubes, the faces of which are painted in different colors that can rotate around the axes invisible from the outside. Elections to the Ukrainian parliament consist of 45 parties. Who twists them and how is the question unanswered. There is no such power. Sometimes they manage to spin themselves. Sometimes large players grab a delicious toy from each other and try to pull their color to the surface.
Red, blue, blue -
Choose any.
This is our human law,
And not a children's counting:
If the blue is chosen
Do not take blue, but sorry.
However, keep this one -
Others have such a little:
Was, but just flew away
The thread remained in her hands.
