On February 18, the funeral of Mikhail Malyutin , one of the brightest representatives of the Russian expert community, took place. A person who has always been in search of answers to questions what is happening with the country, society, the world, combining deep encyclopedic knowledge and intuition with the immediacy and openness of an adult child.
Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, teacher of the Higher Party School, then an active participant in the informal movement in the 1980s and early 1990s, an active publicist, then a successful political strategist and a long-term employee of the expert institution of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the coordinator of the informal association of political experts and consultants (ASPEC).
In many ways in life, Mikhail Malyutin remained an informal forever - he preferred the freedom of frustration and grayness in everything. He preferred formalities an informal style in communication, humor and vocabulary, clothing, even in the conduct of business he preferred informal agreements and relationships. Someone’s informality of the style of Malyutin could surprise and shock, annoy someone, but in any case she could not but remember. He had his own image, language, style, remembered once and for all.
He did not leave any epic works or fundamental works - he himself was the main work of Mikhail Malyutin . Separate essays, analytical notes or certificates, unfortunately, cannot convey that fireworks of immediacy and sometimes stunningly accurate and capacious formulations, which was funded by Living Malyutin.
His contribution to the development of the Russian expert and political community in many ways these are fragments of those very capacious Malyutinsky words, in aphoristic form better than many long scientific reasoning describing Russian specifics, the essence of certain phenomena and concepts.
Like the classic - "half of them entered the proverb." And many do not know that many of these familiar capacious words have an author. Starting from the “Demshiza” and “Mordodel” (Russian reincarnation of the image of the image) and “Anarcho-Caryatists” or “Social Caryatists” (this term as a whole, it is generally describing the unprincipled careerism on social topics) to Yukosi Success, Grandfather Primus (about Evgenia Primakov), “Kindersurprise” (about Seregya Kiriyenko), “Elkin-Vodkin”, “Boris Nelakaevich”, “Staykanych”, etc.
In the maximum sarcastic (sometimes not very censored) manner, Malyutin could formulate the “credo” of whole political directions. So at one time he defined the “Yabloko” strategy as “I won’t give it before the wedding, and I won’t give it after the wedding”, and the election campaign for the election of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in which Alexander Lebed was elected as “M ... Against the Eccentrian with the initiative”. And the ruthlessness of these Malyutin formulations and images was sometimes so murderous that, of course, could not but cause rage and resentment.
His sincerity and openness on the one hand attracted people to him, gave his assessments special value, on the other hand, they, of course, created certain difficulties in work. He could say without abysses to one or another political customer that he thinks of him, his company, his team. He did not jul, did not get rid of and for this reason sometimes lost partners and orders.
Malyutin and his sarcastic and mercilessly accurate analyst were very popular in the 1990s, but times changed. The 2000s with their development of the Internet, when sometimes the image and loyalty turned out to be more important than the content as if they left Malyutin and his style in the past. He did not write to well-known publications and very rarely gave comments, but he still wrote his texts and notes, exchanging them only with friends and colleagues by e-mail and through his small site. Almost the same, as he once spread Samizdat. In the era of technocracy and the transformation of the bulk of political scientists into an intellectual servant of the authorities, he seemed to go into a parallel dimension, remaining himself . For the sake of self-expression, Internet provocations and self-expression were not for him, as well as the servility and total imitation of the times of “controlled democracy” adopted Malyutinsky sincerity and uncompromising.
In addition to the talent of a publicist and analyst, another gift of Malyutin was the ability to unite people. In fact, it was he who was the center of informal crystallization of experts and analysts called the Association of Political Experts and Consultants (ASPEC). ASPEC was primarily an intellectual club, which was able to collect only Malyutin, because only so different people could come to him for discussion in an informal atmosphere of the most difficult problems without clearly defined ideological qualifications and any pressure. It is no secret that those few formal and informal intellectual platforms that are now, everyone has a certain ideological format and the prevailing circle of participants.
After the death of Arkady Volsky and the departure of Malyutin from the Expert Institute of the RSPP, the ASPEC meetings took place at different sites, which at one time or another to find. He himself searched for themes, prepared texts and sent them, invited both old acquaintances and new people. Without Malyutin, many would never have been familiar.
Not just Mikhail Malyutin left, a whole era of the development of the Russian expert community left him. The remaining pieces of the informal Malyutinsky circle will finally fly through their own orbits, dealing with issues of their survival in the times of all -conquering pragmatism.
