Try the nineties

Before we had time to forget about the “dashing 1990s”, try to comprehend them, look at them differently , when just in case of us, these same 1990s, we decided to dip again in a terrible atmosphere very difficult for Russians. And the producers Konstantin Ernst, Igor Tolstunov and director Anton Bormatov did this. Together they undertook to film the novel of the same name by Vladimir (Aka Adolfch) Nesterenko.

In the picture we see the following. Ukraine, September 1993. During the case, the killer of Babay was “sunk”, and the law enforcement agencies “confused him”. He is offered to hand over his boss on very favorable terms. Frightened by the fact that Babai will make a deal, Rashpil’s criminal authority sends four fighters to the Czech Republic so that they bring from there the sister of an unlucky killer, known under the “clico” “stranger”. If it succeeds in getting it, Babai will not make a deal. It will be unfair to retelling the film further in relation to those viewers who are going to watch it. Moreover, the premiere shows of this film begins on June 17. However, the matter is not in the plot. However, with a high degree of probability we can say that the film will cause a great resonance in society. Why?

The cinema is made quite tight and, especially when compared with other domestic films, efficiently. Watching it is interesting from beginning to end, although the sight does not cause much pleasure. At its end, there are no positive feelings and the film is perceived as entertainment - no more. Although at first it seems quite heavy (in addition, it is positioned like that), after thirty minutes it becomes less tough, and in general the picture loses its original drive sharply. So there are not many scenes in it that would be difficult to transfer. To be honest, “Terminator 4” and “Transformers 2” look harder: constant roar, noise and din of consciousness perceives significantly more negatively than four “bots on the hairdryer” of bald men with pistols and in training pants.

The only idea that is in the film, in addition to the obvious excursion in the 1990s for the smallest, is love. Yes, about this movie we can only say that it is about love and betrayal. The main character, although he uses the hero for his selfish purposes, seems to love him sincerely. And even if he does not like, he loves her for sure. As he once declares to her brother: “ Yes, you never dreamed of such love! ". I don’t know if the director or someone from the film crew saw the delightful movie of Peter Medak “Romeo is bleeding”, but it is obvious that the “stranger” borrowed a lot from this film . Maybe this is an archetypal male feature to believe that a woman can easily manipulate men and destroy them?

It is funny that the film “Romeo is bleeding” was released in 1993 (precisely when the film “Alien” takes place), and his premiere was scheduled for February 14 - the day of all lovers. Critics were rightly indignant that there was no more love there than in any other action movie, but there is just enough blood and violence. The sales cop performed by Gary Oldman's bosses of the mafia is instructed to find and deliver a very dangerous and no less insidious woman. Of course, she seduces him and uses in her dirty game (although he loves not her, but his wife, which does not change the essence of the matter). As a result, he is left alone, and the cinema ends with the fact that every day he expects his wife’s return, who, of course, will never return. Those who look “alien” will understand how the plots of two paintings intersect.

So, in addition to the very idea of ​​a complex, confusing, but very strong love, there are no ideas in the film. Even the very name of the movie is completely universally. Although the film really has a spectacular ending, which says why the main character is called “Alien”, in fact - this is just a joke, no more. She only testifies to the fact that the boys, watching the film “About Cosmos”, in which “The Dragon with acid kills everyone”, decided that “on jokes” would be called his colleague Angela. The latter does not lay eggs in the male body (even metaphorically), does not “spray with acid”, and destroys people not for the sake of destruction, but only for the sake of their own well -being. Therefore, it is clear: the name of the movie does not bear any additional meanings.

However, we can add that Ilm is a pure phenomenology of the 1990s - the ones we knew them and what we remembered them. Time of gangster lawlessness, poverty, bad taste (as an element of style), troubles, instability, fear of the future, etc. In a sense, "stranger" can be a good historical sketch. Meanwhile, for many, this may seem even an unhealthy sketch, but quite a cast from everyday life. So this category of spectators can safely demand the spent money back: really, what will they show them what they did not see on the street?

My students, born after the 1990s, say that they remember and know the first decade of their life only fragmentedly and draw their knowledge of that time from history textbooks. Therefore, it is not much surprising that it is these 1990s that turn out to be “different” for them. But the audience twenty years old and younger is not the main target audience of the film, despite the fact that the tempting PR slogan “is not recommended for persons under 18 years of age,” of course, calls for a movie to visit this particular category of spectators. For them, however, this will be just another Russian entertaining film, except for an order of magnitude higher in quality of other Russian films. Nevertheless, for them it will be just a film, let it and well made.

Then who is this movie for? And just for all those who are not indifferent to the 1990s, who recalls this time either with a shudder and, perhaps, even with some kind of hostile feeling (I’m sure there are a majority in Russia), and for those who remember this time with pleasant longing and regrets irrevocably departed youth. Yes, imagine, it turns out, nostalgia can be such (!). And all those who remember this time, and all those who watch the film, and after a couple of scandals, many will be watched by many (besides, Alexander Gordon will show him at night and, of course, “discuss itself” Maxim Shevchenko: so you can not spend free money on tickets and not spend it), will argue for a long time about the film and about its “ideological filling”.

In the Internet jargon there is such a word "traul". It is difficult to say what it means for sure, but it can be said with certainty: this movie is intended to “tra” in the same way as the Russian Society “School” “trot”. Although Konstantin Ernst calls it a “search for a new format”, it seems that a more suitable term for this phenomenon will still “trim” or “tra”. The more society will be ranting about the cinema (and the topic of cruelty and violence is also added to the topic of the 1990s, already not indifferent to Russian society), the more the society will “try”. It seems that it is clear that when you are “trotted” - this is not very good and pretty insulting ... Nevertheless, we are “trotted”.

Now let's ask ourselves a question that begs itself. Why is this film? It is clear that the box office in this case is not the main thing. In order for lovers of cinema like "What are men talking about?" Or the “bride at all costs” watched this film and began to spit, or then, so that they thought: “ And what, after all, there is such a movie; It is more serious , ”that is, in order to accustom the public to a better cinema? This will not happen. Then, in order to “tra” society and cause universal seething about? It is as much as you like.

Then, in order to “get wet” the society in the 1990s again and show that there were de 1990s? .. Please. But if we want to watch movies about the 1990s, we will watch the films of the 1990s. Fortunately, there were paintings made at the level, such as “the body will be devoted to the earth, and the senior midshipman will sing”, “brother”, “window to Paris”, etc. Or is it a certain form of the new "Russian melodrama"? But if people want to watch a movie about love, they will watch a film about love - beautiful and easy. So why such a movie? Simply to be. Well, let it be. He will not lose us. Sorry for the pun is out of place.
