In the English language there are hundreds of thousands of such idiomatic units, multi-word lexemes. The most voluminous Russian dictionaries of phraseological units include about ten thousand units. Of course, one can complain about the shortcomings of the dictionary description of a language, but I would like to repeat what was once said about vocabulary: every language has the dictionaries it deserves. And the point is not only in the number of phraseological units, but in the “stickiness” of verbal substance, the ability of words to creatively, metaphorically combine and form new, combined units of thinking. We are talking about the mental capacity of language, which manifests itself, in particular, in the reserve of “ready-made” conceptual units with which the speaker’s consciousness operates. The more such units there are, the more dissected, intelligible, detailed, and meaningful the picture of the world appears in the language, the easier it is for the speaker to further build his vision of the world on this high general linguistic foundation. He doesn't have to reinvent the wheel, he jumps on it and immediately starts turning the wheels.
NEOPHRASIA - 5
In previous issues, phraseological units were offered on the topics of vision (issue 215), socio-political (216), creative relationships between people (217), intimacy, desire, choice (218). The theme of this issue is the power of repetition, the depth of penetration into existence, consciousness, hearing.
problem macaques
The problem is that once you start a procedure or process, it is difficult to decide how and where to stop. The origin of this idiom is the case of a little girl who said: “I know how to spell macaque, I just don’t know where to stop.”
In English, the expression “banana problem” is used in a similar sense. The Russian “macaque” illustrates this problem even more clearly, because the monkey is associated with the idea of repetition, imitation, and reproduction of the same thing.
Russian publishing houses are faced with the problem of the macaque in connection with the continuously flowing stream of books on the new chronology. It turns out that any story can be transmitted, and the chain reaction is unstoppable. The last sentence is a typical example of how the constituent parts of a phraseological unit can be separated or omitted in speech, enter into new lexical and grammatical connections, and be “refreshed.” For example, the phraseological unit “to work carelessly” can be reinterpreted as follows: “Before starting work, she always lowers her lace sleeves.”The macaque problem played an evil role in the First World War. Having launched the mechanism of mass mobilization, the general staffs of the opposing coalitions could no longer stop.
Think about the current financial crisis and how the real estate price bubble began to inflate. The macaque clearly ran through here and waved its tail.
By analogy with a “computer worm” - a virus infection program.
I'll play you one melody, but I warn you - you won't get rid of it. Sonic worm.to irritate - to give penetrating power to a certain piece of (dis)information. This thought penetrates the reader immediately and irrevocably, like a brain worm.
It's just a newspaper hoax. She flew by and disappeared. And we need a worm that would crawl into the darkest corner of consciousness and live there for at least a month.
Your design is kind of boring. Here you need to place pictures, screens everywhere, and put more worms in the eyes of the public !
to become nervous , to become angry

long hearing , short hearing , deep hearing , shallow hearing - listening ability, determined by the volume of perceived speech of the interlocutor.
Long and deep hearing are not the same thing. Deep hearing is creative, capable of not only listening, but also hearing the main thing and processing it into a creative response, into a resonant state of interlocutors. Long hearing is the ability to listen for a long time, but not necessarily to hear deeply. Long hearing is a necessary, but not sufficient condition for deep hearing.
He has short hearing . He listens to half a sentence - and then interrupts and starts talking about his own things._______________________________________________________________________________________Rarely does anyone have a long ear , capable of absorbing the content of someone else's word - and bearing fruit from it, and giving birth to new speech from it. Usually we hear only ourselves, and we speak to hear ourselves, and we listen only in order to have a reason to speak.
Kh. is a man of long speech and short hearing . When you start talking to him, you feel how your speech quickly becomes shallow, spreads out, and does not accumulate in his hearing.
All the while feeling guilty of its own loneliness, writing nevertheless greedily dreams of the time when words will finally be happy, it dreams of a language whose naturalness would ideally anticipate that new and completely Adamic world where language will be free from alienation. ...Literature becomes the utopia of language.
Roland Barthes (1915-1980), French thinker, writer, semiotician, critic. "Zero degree of writing."

Memo (from previous issues)
schastica - a small share, particle, grain of happiness; a brief moment of happiness, the smallness and fleetingness of which makes its experience even more acute.
Elizaveta Yuryevna was quite happy with her family and work, but when she first attended a poetry evening, she suddenly realized what a particle was missing in her life._________________________________________________________________A person is never completely happy. some part He is always missing . For some, this particle is a feature of their own appearance: a straight nose or a slender leg. For some - a summer cottage or a bank account. And in Mishka’s life, such a piece of luck suddenly turned out to be a stamp from the Belgian Congo with the image of a giraffe that he had seen in childhood.
People chase happiness, torture it, never get enough - and yet all their lives they are visited by small particles . A cloud, a lake, a tower... The exact location of objects, a smell, smoke, someone's voice... A flash, a flicker. It is possible to catch a particle , but the cause cannot be established or its path traced. Maybe the soul, like matter, has its own elementary particles - photons, electrons, neutrinos. They instantly flash, flicker, passing through the spiritual field, but their mass and location cannot be determined, they are only where we are able to experience them. They do not have an inert mass of peace - what we call happiness. As the poet said, there is no happiness in the world... But there are particles . (vol. 24 )
