Hi, this is a plum-adjarh. For more than ten years, I have been learning again and again about cases when one of my acquaintances has been using drugs during sessions, before deadlines, to cope with everyday affairs in depressive episodes. For some, this is the most affordable form of stress, for others, a free choice of changes in consciousness.
I recently learned that in many countries to treat attention deficiency and hyperactivity (ADHD), amphetamine -row substances are prescribed. Ketamin's potential for the treatment of depression is underway. Depression and anxiety can reduce psilocybin mushrooms and LSD . All these substances are prohibited in countries where the cases listed by me took place. I wanted to investigate how often people combine the use of prohibited psychoactive substances and the performance of some tasks and why they do it. To do this, I talked with people with such experience and three specialists with different points of view. It turned out a long text, but it seems to me that it is important to read it entirely.

I had working marathons when you need to be collected. You work for two weeks for wear, you need to constantly be in the ranks. I came and resorted to this method. Amphitamine sniffed One of the most popular surfactants, a stimulator of the central nervous system. .
Ksenia 29, she lives in St. Petersburg. She considers herself a prone to addictions: forbidden surfactants replaces alcohol, dependence on it replaces workaholism, and disorders of food behavior are undergoing a through line. According to Ksenia, addictive patterns are part of its life path that needs to be accepted, but amphetamine dependence created on this path of the pit or turned it into a run in the wheel.
“This gave a certain vigor. But then, of course, in four days you understand that this vigor is inversely proportional to your physical capabilities. You, on the contrary, become sluggish. You need to continue to sniff in order to just stay afloat. You run, run, but still come to the same point from which to get out, of course, is problematic. ”
Yasya (name changed), an employee of the NPO and an activist from Belarus, also resorted to stimulants Substances that act excitingly on the nervous and cardiovascular systems. to cope with the maraeons of tasks. In her case, it was in a student when I had to urgently write a term paper or prepare for a session.
“A bright but typical story. I write a curser for three days without sleep and almost without food (I made myself eat a little), stupidly consuming all the time. The next day I need to go to the university for the exam. Usually, under the stimulants, the consciousness is crystal pure, superconcentrated. And then I just have fragmentary memories of how I got to the university. At some points, I just found myself in a conversation with the teacher, and what did I say about what I did [before that]? I absolutely can not imagine. Maybe I danced naked on the table. Thank God, they didn’t notice my condition at the university - well, or noticed, but there were no problem situations. After the exam, I returned home, continued to use, although nothing was acting. At such moments, I could happen overhead - I was pumped out ”(hereinafter, the replicas of Yasi were transferred from Belarusian).
Both Ksenia and Yasya considered stimulants as a way to increase their productivity, because these substances were already familiar to them. Although both heroines do not refuse insights in thoughts and communication with others that they acquired with the help of surfactants, at some point they found relations with substances problematic and left them in the past.
Yasya began to use at the age of seventeen, and at a certain period, she began to support her senior family member in this. It was especially difficult for her to get rid of addiction and find other ways to cope with everyday challenges. Jasya began therapy and drug treatment of depression, but their therapeutic effect was accumulated for a long time. At that time, the girl attributed this to the upset biochemical processes of her body.
Another of our interlocutor Polina (the name changed) also suggests that the experience of active use of stimulants greatly affected how her “biochemistry” works. Now Pauline 27, she lives in the Netherlands and works in IT. The period of active use of stimulants came for a while when she was preparing to enter a prestigious university, and then studied in it.
“It all started when I was 17 years old. I was going to act, and it seemed to me that my whole life was standing at a stake. I need to be one of the best, maybe the best - this is installation from childhood, from parents. At some point, I realized that amphetamine makes me not that invulnerable, but as if biomashina on the analysis of information, I can know absolutely everything, and logical relations are realized in one whole system.

By the way, I studied a doctor and perfectly understood what this thing is doing with my body: it is very changing the work of the reward system A complex of structures of the nervous system that regulate behavior, “rewarding” certain solutions and fixing them as patterns. . And at some point I reached the point. It was the third course, marathon In the context of PAV use is a period of several days, often without sleep, when the dose of matter is used one after another. Before the exam on the anatomy of the nervous system. The marathon lasted five days, and I took my body into an absolutely spawning state. I came to the exam, thoughts were confused, and I barely answered the four. It was a huge defeat, I was just broken. "
The turn for Polina from this point was unexpected: she realized that she had previously been engaged in what was actually uninteresting and kept only on external, synthetic motivation. After that, she took up yoga and began to actively listen to herself, changed the university to the one in which the training was less hierarchical and adversarial. She did not refuse Pava at all and, living in Russia, even at home she was afraid of a search, police officers. Constant anxiety disappeared only with the move to the Netherlands.
“Now I already know that no one can do anything bad to me, [the police] cannot apply any physical or mental violence. And this is a great feeling. I want every person to feel like that in all countries. ”
Polina suspects SDVG and is waiting for the queue for official testing. Many of her acquaintances in the Netherlands with this diagnosis received recipes for treatment with an amphetamine class of substances, which prompted Polina to begin to reflect on her own experience again: “Maybe all my four years at the university, I just subconsciously used the substance that helped me adjust my state of attention deficiency. The fact that I became dependent on him is another question. But perhaps it just helped me to be myself. ”
Masha is a cultural worker, she is 25 years old. For her, not work or study was particularly difficult, but socialization. It was difficult for Masha to meet and communicate with people, to feel comfortable and at ease. She repeatedly resorted to Pava to reduce anxiety before going to a concert or party. However, nervousness overtook it in front of more official events, on which you need to communicate a lot.
“I needed to take entrance exams to the university, and I was terribly afraid. I represented a situation in which I could not get a word out of myself, I had a complete panic, and I absolutely did not know what to do. And my neighbor who was sitting on the hairdryer The slang name of amphetamine. , suggested using it: "What is it? You will feel more relaxed, you will be more talkative, and nothing terrible will happen." And it seemed to me that this is really a good option. As a result, I got lost, came not to that building, barely managed to the right address. Of course, terribly crumpled, she talked randomly. For me, most likely, it was clear that something was wrong. But, I think, the teachers considered that I was just very nervous, because I still passed the exam. ”
Masha received the support of the family and friends and considers her life as a whole prosperous, but assumes that she was still not ready for a combination of new freedom and responsibility that fell on her after graduation.
Elena (the name changed) lives in Germany, where she is engaged in illustration and animation on freelance. Last year, she experienced depression, she was sent to a psychiatrist for antidepressants, but it was difficult to sign up for a doctor in a confusing bureaucratic system. At the same time, Elena notes the positive side of the bureaucracy: the list of prohibited substances in Germany is updated once a year, and PAV manufacturers regularly produce new analogues. Until the time they are included in the list, they can be purchased in the store without fear of persecution: for example, every year a new, slightly modified drug is released every year, which is metabolized in the body to LSD . Elena tells how she decided to contact this drug.
“It was very difficult to stupidly get out of bed, go, start living. I was sent to the psychiatrist for antidepressants, but something in me resisted, in addition, it was difficult to sign up for doctors. And I suddenly remembered that there is such a topic as microdosing The practice of using surfactants, often psychedelic, in which reduced regular doses are used. They do not change consciousness, but affect the work of neurotransmitters. . She began to carefully study how to do it all, what protocols. Especially for microdinaging, here you can buy such small pills where a very, very small amount of active substance, ten micrograms Recreational doses of LSD begin with 50 μg, usually 100–120 μg. .
I began to select a scheme. At first, the impact was very strong, because I had not used it at all before. Then I began to reduce the dose, picked up the right one. It became easier for me to complete tasks, it is easier to work. The mood also improved quickly enough. With microdozing, no one will ever notice that you are under something, and nothing changes to you visually [as it happens with a recreational Recreational is the use of surfactants, not related to medical indications, usually for the sake of pleasure. use of LSD]. It's just a little more beautiful and joyful. ”

Elena believes that the microdozin protocols do not allow addiction to develop: after each use, you need to take a two-three-day break, otherwise tolerance is produced and the next tablet ceases to have the desired effect. The heroine considers LSD much safer than alcohol, while it is important for her to buy an uncriminalized drug of proven quality. Elena also considers marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms more safe options than alcohol, antidepressants or psychostimulants.
Project manager and artist Arina (the name changed) also refused alcohol and belongs to the " Farm Synthetic drugs. ". Arina lives in Thailand, where marijuana helped her to cope with difficult life stages, and many use Kratoma to increase concentration A tropical plant, in some countries of Southeast Asia there is a centuries-old practice of using its leaves for an invigorating or analgesic effect. It is attributed to the list of narcotic substances in most countries, including in Juva. .
“Here it is very easy to acquire and socially no one is steaming. And I treat surfactants as a technology and I think that, as with any technology, it all depends on how to use it. This can bring something, enrich life, help [spiritually] request some things or expand the experience of knowing this world. ”
Arina tries to make any experience of using surfactants, especially psychedelic, as conscious as possible: sets up for specific spiritual requests, addresses ceremonial practices with accompanying conductors A conductor or guide is an experienced user of a substance that helps others live a better and safer trip (without participating in use). Some cultures have the prevailing rituals around the use of local natural surfactants and the roles of wires in them. . At the same time, she is concerned about the deferred effects as triples A change in consciousness, which occurs under the influence of psychedelics (in the text - LCD, psilocybin mushrooms) and is often associated with his “journey” (English trip) in connection with a specific theme or idea. , and everyday use of even natural substances.
It is important to understand that we, through drugs, through substances, do not get a magical pillar of divine energy, which condescends from somewhere in the sky. You all take you bent from your body. Over time, attention worsens, other cognitive functions. Depression worsens.
Like many heroes, Arina is in therapy. At the same time, she did not work out “entering antidepressants”, both due to distrust of the quality of the diagnosis, and due to the high cost of drugs. In addition to depression, Arina suspects SDVG in herself. In some cases, instead of marijuana, she addresses the stratum, common in Southeast Asia. Its leaves can be chewed, brewed in tea or eat in the form of powder - Kratom acts as an antidepressant and a stimulator at the same time.
“Sometimes I am extending further into depression, generally an ass. And then, for example, in the morning I drink it, half a teaspoon, so that there is simply energy. Wash the same dishes or just sit down on the computer, start your working day. ”
Although Kratom is technically legal in Thailand and natural by origin, Arina does not consider it absolutely safe. “Substances can help in some ways, but they do not solve our problems. I would like people to probably take their emotions, their states to study their emotions, ”Arina concludes.
Lizon is 24 years old, she is an artist and designer working in political organizations. She has been using marijuana for about seven years to solve creative problems. For her, this choice is less associated with the need to get rid of some negative symptoms, rather Lizon seeks to additionally strengthen its concentration and creative thinking.
“I studied marijuana, its influence at the chemical level, interaction with the endocannabinoid system The signal structure of the body, which regulates the nervous, immune systems and other functions. It includes cannabinoid receptors with which both endogenous (produced by the body itself) and exogenous (for example, hemp) cannabinoids can interact. . I can smoke at home and go to work. If I need to do monotonous design work, the grass helps me concentrate, my shoulders relax and I work with greater enthusiasm.
When, on the contrary, I need to work with creative tasks, create meanings in illustrations, smoke a good solution. I have ideas, which I later develop in the pictures, are combined in my head. The latest data show that grass does not directly affect creativity. However, it increases the mood, which leads to a more favorable assessment of her and other people's creativity. ”
Lizon believes that we can bring us closer to the perfect world, the use of the potential laid down in the surfactant itself, and specifically in marijuana: “To be honest, I would like to live on an island where marijuana is the basis of the economy. Where fuel, building blocks, clothes are made from it. Where there are a lot of farms that grow it. ”
Unlike the artist, the 27-year-old programmer Yasos Bib never performs work under the influence of criminalized surfactants. At the university, he had an unsuccessful experience of using amphetamine to increase the concentration: it turned out that instead of a hairdryer he was sold a mef Mephedron - a stimulant specially synthesized for recreational purposes. Contrary to the myth of harmlessness, the rapid addiction, high risks of overdose and other negative consequences often entails. , the work was ineffective, and he did not resort to this method anymore. At the same time, like many heroes of this text, he suspects SDVG in himself. From time to time, Yasos Bib smokes grass in order to truly immerse himself in his hobby.
“Sometimes I am drawn to dig into music, maybe even write something. If I smoke a bump One of the slang names of marijuana, associated with the fact that coat -shaped female hemp flowers are usually used for smoking. , it becomes easier for me to concentrate on this. It gets more interesting. I can’t say that I smoke grass all the time in order to work gloriously after that. ”
We talk about Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, resistance and repression, and also oppose inequality and discrimination. Help us create more materials that are dispelled by propaganda myths.
An anonymous artist says that she had a "romance with grass." Now she is 31 years old, and 12–13 years ago she often turned to the grass, including “lengthening thoughts”. Other Pavel an anonymous artist also loves: they give her new experiments of knowledge and deepen interaction with friends, mainly from a creative environment. At the same time, due to bipolar disorder, the experience of traumatic partings and a sense of collapse after the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia to Ukraine, she resorted to surfactants and in order to simply improve the general condition.
“A couple of years ago, I was in art resident with a very rich program. In parallel, I had my own large -scale project, and I needed to quickly write an explication The explanatory text that reveals the concept of the project, work. . I used to always find a resource. And here I was so burned out that I could not. And I just took from my girlfriend to smoke from the residence - and for the first time in my life I wrote a very serious eyeliner under the grass, at five in the morning. The next day I thought that there was some kind of crap there, but no. The text was so published, a couple of commas had to be corrected. ”
Before that, an anonymous heroine once passed the exam under the influence of PAV: the substance was spice One of the brands of smoking mixtures, which has become a household. The mixtures consist of various plants, but they do not produce the main psychoactive effect, but synthetic cannabinoids in the composition. . Not much more important for the heroine was not the experience itself, but its context. According to her memoirs, in 2012-2013 in Russia there was a surge of trading in smoking mixtures: “It was a separate subculture: in Moscow there were linden stalls with such pictures, as if cigarettes were being sold there, but in fact you put money, and you have been slipping this blue bag.”
Spice did not give creative discoveries or insights in communication: the heroine describes the trips under him as something heavy and warm that captures you. However, in the feeling of restlessness that she then experienced, this experience was desirable for her. And risky.
“I believe that this is one of the million major crimes of Vladimir Putin. The first spice was good, thousands of people of that generation tried it, demand was formed. And then he was banned In early 2015, Putin signed a law on the ban on the turnover and propaganda of Spice. , normal suppliers began to leave, everything was covered with a network of a chemical monster - imported mixtures where gasoline could be, anything. People were dying in packs. And they sold spice, of course, migrants who kneaded garbage. A business appeared in which disenfranchised people were drawn, it was a time of deportation camps. ”
Among the crimes of Vladimir Putin in the field of drug policy, an anonymous artist recalls how the status of methadone in Crimea has changed after his annexation in 2014. This substance in many countries is used in replacement therapy: patients with dependencies on severe opioid drugs, for example, heroin, help to switch to methadone, to which addiction develops more slowly. In addition, methadone is not used with injection, but drunk in the form of tablets or syrup - this helps to prevent the spread of HIV and other infections through non -sterile syringes. Unlike Ukraine, in Russia there are no programs for replacement methadone therapy, and 800 resident of the Crimea, who participated in this program, after the annexation were without access to the desired drug. By 2015, up to 100 people died. After the start of the full -scale invasion, the programs stopped working in the occupied territories.
“The whole catch, of course, is not only in a person, the whole snag is in a crooked arranged reality,” the anonymous artist argues. - In a very unstable world, drugs give a rather predictable condition. They become a womb, chemically built hugs. ”
Thinking about the future, she suggests: “Of course, you need replacement therapy. You need an unconditional basic income and getting rid of the competition system. But I also believe that a person by the right of birth has the right to all that does not interfere with others. He has the right to curiosity, to stupidity, to buzz. "
We did not consider in this text the experience of people who combine work and surfactants, for example, falling into labor or sexual slavery. Penetric_ki can force such people to take drugs to control through addiction . For our interlocutors, the choice to combine drugs and the fulfillment of some tasks was more or less free, and we were interested to know how this choice could look in the perfect world.
Almost all of Hero_in faced guilt for drug use, for example, because they consider them harmful in the long run. At the same time, those who have not consumed substances for a long time, and those who consider them an integral part of their lives are unanimous: the punitive drug policy only exacerbates possible risks.
Yasya talks about the fears that pursued her in Belarus, where the law prohibits the use of PAV and provides for this even more stringent punishment than in Russia: “I thought to go to the hospital in the peaks of addiction, but I was afraid that they would register me. Decriminalization is a base and a minimum. ”

Ksenia also believes also: “Of course, I am for the option in which people will delve into the depths and in the essence of the problem, but not to assume that if you use, then you are a discharge of society and must sit in the colony. Allegedly, this will help you, correct you. In my understanding, this will not improve your life. ”
Our heroes are also sure that psychotherapeutic and psychiatric care systems should work better. Not all of them chose or choose surfactants, because they believe in their universal effectiveness. In the search for means that would relieve undesirable symptoms, they turned to those classes of substances that have medical use in some countries.
So, in dozens of countries for the treatment of ADHD , first -line preparations Preparations that are the first on the basis of a general assessment of the effectiveness and risks of all available methods of treatment. - Stimulants . At the same time, most adults with ADHD are not diagnosed - this contradicts the widespread opinion that people attribute to themselves ADHD when they are faced with ordinary inattention or lack of willpower. In addition, in women, this diagnosis is determined even worse than in men.
“In Russia, this diagnosis is recognized only in the context of hyperactive teenage boys, but in fact it is a wide spectrum. ADHD exists, it needs to be paid attention to, treated, it does not need to stigmatize and equate to the use of psychostimulants for recreational goals, ”Polina addresses the psychiatrist and parents.
Depression, anxiety disorders and other mental problems also often remain undiagnosed. “I strongly suspect that in the ideal world the diagnosis of such pieces would be more easily available. Here the bourgeois already have progress in this direction: the use of ketamin Synthetic analgesic, has a psychoactive effect. Studies of its potential as an antidepressant are underway, in some cases it is already prescribed in the United States. For the treatment of depression, ”says Yasos Bib.
People with mental disorders may not seek therapeutic or psychiatric help due to stigmatization, distrust of methods or specialist. The representative of the discriminated groups often declare that classical psychotherapy, in principle, is only suitable for a narrow layer of people: usually white, cisgender, having medium and higher income. For people in pracarine Pre-kerity describes an unstable state from the point of view of labor rights, for example, due to work on short-term contracts or without them at all; on freelance. The condition, for those who do not have access to therapy and psychiatry, as well as for those who consider them politically inappropriate, surfactants can be a more affordable form of self -help. However, she often has more risks.
Masha believes that in order to reduce these risks, it is very important to develop comprehensive knowledge about PAV: “I would like the education in this area to be better and people know about the real danger that can wait for them. I would like to have more research, more public attention and money to develop methods of help. ”
Elena is in solidarity with this opinion. She finds it strange that alcohol is on free sale, unlike psilocybin mushrooms or LSD. Not only activist, but also scientists often declare that the drug policy of most countries unfairly assess the danger of many substances.
In the European rating of the dangers of substances for the user and the environment and society, compiled in 2015, even heroin was ahead of alcohol. LSD and psilocybin mushrooms are at the very end of the list. Similar ratings were compiled later for different geographies.

Van Amsterdam J, Nutt D, Phillips L, Van Den Brink W. European Rating of Drug Harms. Journal of PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY. 2015; 29 (6): 655-660. DOI: 10.1177/0269881115581980
In Russia, on April 28, Putin signed two laws at once regarding "narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances." One of them allows you to deprive the acquired Russian citizenship of people who will be considered guilty Part 2 or Part 3 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances in large and especially large size, respectively. Many substances in the retail market are sold only in volumes that are already considered “large”. and the other - excluded a medical examination from the list of procedures necessary for the formulation of the "Diagnosis" " drug addiction This stigmatizing definition, instead of it, the global drug policy commission recommends saying “disorder of the use of psychoactive substances” or “problematic use”. ". It is still unclear what the consequences of Russians will entail, however, the strategy of Russian drug policy, approved in 2020, involves tightening repressive measures. The document refers to the threats of national security “Expanding the global drug market due to the legalization of the use of cannabis for recreational purposes” and “Increasing the number of cases of drug consumption with psychoactive effects without prescribing a doctor ”.
Daria Savrukhina, clinical psychologue with 11 years of experience, one of the specializations-work with dependencies
Speaking about why people turn to surfactants, I want to explain: addiction is a consequence, not a motivation for use. And recreational goals are rather a facade. The main motivation is a person’s desire to change his emotional state as a whole or situationally. Removing anxiety or increasing concentration is also private cases of this general motivation. It doesn’t matter if a person decides to use surfactants in order to relieve excitement before a performance or increase productivity in a depressive episode: the desire to influence his emotional state with the help of any substance is the main, and possibly the only reason why use occurs.
People who resort to use are difficult to turn to therapy and other “legal” and “respectable” methods for several reasons:
“Help” with the help of PAV is superficial and situational. In the moment, it gives some relief: it acts as an analgesic [analgesic] and dulls the symptoms, but does not affect the systemic problem with the regulation of emotions and can aggravate it. [Negative] consequences will inevitably be: after some time, the effectiveness of the method will decrease, the number of surfactants required for the desired effect will grow, and in general this can lead to dependence. The main problem can progress.
The good news is that the difficulties in the emotional and psychological spheres are generally solved. For example, in the course of working with psychologist_i and a psychotherapist, you can learn to cope with experiences and solve the problems that arise in other ways, reduce the general background of anxiety.
Unlike self -assembled surfactants, the diagram of drugs selected by the doctor does not cause such a chemical dependence, side effects can be minimal. The dosage, a combination of drugs is important here. Also, drugs are aimed at specific symptoms and selected taking into account their severity.
In Russia, there is a system of dispensary accounting, which repels many: for example, registration creates difficulties with employment and a driver’s license. At the same time, not everyone has funds on private specialist. It is important to improve the quality and availability of psychological assistance for people from the risk zone: from dysfunctional families faced with various types of violence that have experienced traumatic experience, with suicidal behavior, which have psychiatric diagnoses and other risks. It is important to increase the overall level of psychological literacy, so that people have an understanding and choice, as you can do in difficult or even extreme situations.
Maxim Malyshev, coordinator of the social work of the Andrei Shkolov Foundation (included in the register of foreign agents, Moscow), co -founder of the Center for Psychological Supportfor Community Center (Tbilisi)
Millions of people around the world use substances for purely utilitarian purposes - this is a fairly common strategy. You can discuss for a long time about how harmful it is or, conversely, effective, but such patterns will not disappear anyway. If people need them, they help them in the short term, I propose to accept this as a fact: this model of behavior is no worse than other methods of self -help.
There are risks (maybe, except for legal), and legal substances and behaviors. And moreover, most of the risks of PAV are constructed by their criminalization.
Public (including medical and political) consciousness changes very slowly. It would be great if, instead of conviction and criminal prosecution, people received information about these risks, they could weigh them and most consciously choose a self -help method. Antidepressant or ketamine therapy? KPT skills [cognitive-behavioral therapy] or stimulants? Meditation or microdosing? The most important thing is that this should not be the choice of “or-or”, but a fan of opportunities and their conscious comparison. Of course, if such a wide selection becomes affordable, new challenges will appear. But the choice and authorship of the path is just what changes people's lives for the better. But the choice and authorship of the path is just what changes people's lives for the better.
Anya Sarang, president of the Andrei Shkolov Foundation (included in the register of foreign agents)
When people use certain substances to improve their condition or to increase the effectiveness of their work, these substances are called medicines . Some of them are illegal, and some, for example, amphetamine substances, on the one hand, are prohibited, but on the other, in some countries they can be prescribed by doctors.
Of course, when people are self -medicated due to the inaccessibility of a certain medicine, it is important for them to remember to reduce harm. It is necessary to know more about the substances that you use: to find scientific works, research on how risky consequences are possible and how to reduce them. It is important to remember the reduction of harm in any lesson, including when using psychoactive substances.
It seems to me that it is very important to realize that our ideas about the forbidden substances developed under the influence of the ideology of the “ drug war ”. It is based on the premise that “drugs” are always a “problem” that needs to be fought and which can be solved only if people are together, all humanity will stop using them. The global “drug war” inhibited their scientific study for more than half a century, and our ideas were based literally on propaganda inventions.
Now a lot makes us revise these ideas: modern scientific finds, data on the medical value and superiority of now prohibited substances in the treatment of mental disorders, a new approach to understanding dependence: for example, that this is not a “chronic incurable disease”, but only an adaptation Read more about this, for example, on page 16 of the report for 2017 from the global drug policy commission, the brain mechanism changing with the course of life.
