The 34-year-old resident of the house No. 15 on Khimikov Street in Arkhangelsk made repairs in his apartment on the fourth floor-he cleaned the wall between the kitchen and the room. But a brick wall of 2.5 by 3 meters collapsed onto the man, crushing his legs. During the fall, the heating system was damaged, and hot water poured into the victim himself and began to pour neighbors living on the lower floors. Arkhangelogorod could not get out of the collapsed wall on his own. His wife in a panic turned to the regional rescue service for help.
Rescuers pushed a piece of the wall, removed the victim from under it and transported it to an ambulance. According to preliminary information, the man received thermal burns of the body and fracture of the lower leg.
Then the operational group returned to the long -suffering apartment on the fourth floor. Employees of the communal service did not have time to drive up, so the rescuers tried to squeeze the damaged pipe, from which the flow of hot water continued to whip with hydraulic instruments. But the attempt failed. At that moment, a locksmith arrived. But since the door to the basement, in which the water heating equipment of the hot water supply system was located, was closed, the rescuers had to release it. After that, the water supply was blocked. An electrician was also called to the scene-rescuers feared that due to the flow of water, the wiring could occur.
Specialists of public utilities remained in the house to eliminate the accident. Rescuers examined the remaining residents of the apartment where repairs were carried out - they did not need urgent medical care.
