After such a day, my mind, of course, goes beyond my mind in an attempt to understand what is happening, but at the end it produces this: apparently, a new Gorbachev has matured in the current Politburo . His name is Sergei Semyonovich Sobyanin .

In the ugly story that played out on Thursday and, possibly, continues on Friday, he is catching the maximum of political benefits. It was from his lordly shoulder that the voices of “swindlers and thieves” were given to the fighter against swindlers and thieves. It is he who will be elected mayor of Moscow - no matter how Lenin returns to his Navalny station, which is turning from Yaroslavsky into Finlyandsky . And as a result of these elections, it is he (Sobyanin) who will be the most concretely legitimately elected political figure in Russia.
Well, it’s generally unnecessary to talk about the political capabilities of the Moscow mayor as such.
It will be prepared to replace it, and, most likely, not in 4.5 years, but a little earlier - in two years.
And most importantly: it already demonstrates some mental valence to the enlightened public (resp. broad layers of the educated and independently living population), which does not at all crave a revolutionary dictatorship, no matter what super-anti-corruption slogans it lures the people under.
The comparison with Gorbachev is not based on performance results, of course, but based on expectations.
