On January 10, in Voronezh, in a guide park near the monument Nikitin, another picket was held (such pickets pass every Wednesday) against nickel production in our region. I want to tell you in a nutshell about what is happening with this problem.
Personally my opinion. It is useless to demand the resignation of Gordeev or Putin, as the picket participants do. In other countries, officials are no better. In any capitalist country, officials lobby for the interests of large business and spit on the opinion of ordinary citizens. The problem is that in our country, and specifically in Voronezh, there is no civil society. And while he is not Putin, Gordeev or other officials will listen to representatives of large capital. They are real power, and we, ordinary citizens, are still an empty place. Nobody will talk to us while 10 people will come to the picket against Nickel.
Although the construction of the GOK has not yet begun, but it is not far off, since the expert commission on subsoil use has already approved the project of Nickel mining in the Elansk and Yolkinsky deposits of non -ferrous metals.
At the moment, exploration work has been carried out, more than 230 wells have been drilled, and it can already be unequivocally said that the ecology of our region has irreparable damage: there was pollution and lowering the level of groundwater, residents of a number of settlements were left without water. The worst thing that was polluted by radioactive metals.
Of course, representatives of the UMMC did not tell Putin about this when he came to us recently.
Locals on their own, for their funds, are trying to test water samples. But now we can say that an environmental disaster is provided to us if the development of Nickel begins. And yet, I am more scary not of future catastrophes, but those disasters in our Russian society that have occurred for a long time. I mean not only the catastrophic state of civil society. Not only that the absolute majority of people do not give a damn about the problems of ecology.
The problem of Nickel is also that, in fact, there are few Voronezh chernozem. People in villages and villages are mostly wanting to live in the city, and not in a poor hinterland. Many of them abandoned or sold their land for nothing, and new owners came to this land: businessmen from the UMMC or agricultural holdings, who also do not give a damn about the future of the Voronezh Territory.
The consumer attitude to the land on which we live in particular, and the consumer attitude, in general, to nature - this is the real source of all environmental problems, and the problems of nickel extraction on Khopra, including. Therefore, these problems cannot be solved right today, but our children or grandchildren can solve them if everyone who understands the essence of the problem will make efforts to change the attitude to the problems of ecology in society. All problems begin in the human mind, and the solution to these problems depends on the level of people's consciousness. It is an increase in the level of consciousness that leads to the development of civil society.
