Former Yoshkar-Ola mayor Pavel Plotnikov , who was dismissed from this position at the session of the meeting of deputies of Yoshkar-Ola on November 25, was arrested. This evening of December 3 was reported by anonymous commentators of one of the blogs published on 7x7 . After some time, information appeared on the Mari Pravda website with reference to an anonymous source in law enforcement agencies, confirming the fact of the capture of the ex-head of the city administration.

After the termination of the contract with Pavel Plotnikov, officially law enforcement agencies did not declare any new cases to open against him. It should be noted that two criminal cases opened about two years ago, which did not end, according to the ex-mayor, were not officially closed. Also in the days followed by Plotnikov’s dismissal from the city hall, there were many complaints and accusations. A significant part of them was voiced by the head of Mari El Leonid Markelov . The latest of them sounded in a television interview on the REN TV channel region 12 two days ago. The head of the republic, in particular, read out a statement from the contents of which it followed that the construction company, affiliated, according to Leonid Markelov, with the ex-mayor, paid almost ten times less for the land for construction in the central part of the city than that was not related to Pavel Plotnikov, which bought land for the construction in the outskirts of the microdistrict. Nevertheless, representatives of law enforcement agencies did not give any comments on the situation. The exception was explanations of the republican prosecutor's office, whose idea of ​​eliminating violations was a formal reason for terminating the contract with the head of the Yoshkar-Ola administration.

It should also be noted that in one of the “ 7x7 ” posts posted on December 3, new Documents compromising Pavels were published: in a letter to the temporarily acting mayor of the capital of Mari El Evgeny Maslov , addressed to the prosecutor of the republic Sergey Ryumshin , it was reported that the debt to the city budget of firms, possibly affiliated with Pavl. Plotnikov, for the rental of land, exceeded 100 million rubles. On this fact, the acting head of the city administration asked to organize and conduct an audit.
