The 7x7 editors asked me to answer three questions about Boris Nemtsov. Here are my answers:
1. What did you personally feel when you learned about the death of Boris Nemtsov?
This tragic news was told to me by one of my friends who never experienced sympathy for a democratic movement. At first I did not believe and thought that it was he who specially scares me to the march of spring, but turning on the TV - I realized that it was true. There was a feeling of emptiness and helplessness from the impossibility of turning time back. On this day, we went to lay leaflets with an invitation to the procession and for the first time it took place absolutely in the grave silence: there was no laughter, not random conversations. Unbelief in what was happening was the main feeling.
2. Are you familiar with the results of the investigation of the murder of a politician and are they satisfied with them?
Of course, I follow the progress of the investigation and no one will ever prove to me that the killers could not be caught for a few hours from the moment of such an impudent crime near the Kremlin. It is clear that having shot a person near the residence of the president, it is impossible to calmly get into the car and leave. Why is none of the law enforcement agencies punished, who "missed" night shooting under the walls of the Kremlin?
3. The most important thing is what we should understand after the tragedy - what is it?
Now the mourning procession is being prepared in Voronezh and we again receive threats and insults addressed to our already dead Boris Nemtsov. I would like to see the understanding that it is impossible to resort to violence to affirm their political views. To the globo regret, I see that for supporters of power, the death of a person is not a reason for understanding what happened. Indeed, the murder of a politician in the center of Moscow is a tragedy of all, regardless of views. Alas, we again hear the threats of the execution of liberals, attacks on pickets with portraits of the murdered politician continue. Violence becomes the norm for public life, and this is already an alarming signal. They should have understood the impossibility of aggression of people with other peepers, but in fact, even mourning procession, supporters of the authorities, want to turn into the attention of political accounts. It is sad and sorry that society has not learned anything over the past year.
