Doctors are increasingly talking about the dangers of a computer. But, apparently, they hastened with the final diagnosis. American scientists conducted an experiment and found that the use of the Internet has a beneficial effect on thought processes and reduces the likelihood of brain disorders. The situation for "Medpulse.ru" is commented by the psychologist Ksenia Averina.
Neurologists of the University of Missouri conducted an experiment during which a group of volunteers was engaged in the search for information on the network.
At the same time, experts recorded such reactions of the subjects of the subjects as a rapid heartbeat, electro -conductivity of the skin and the movement of facial muscles.
It turned out that the information caused a greater emotional response and was better remembered if it was obtained by network search by keywords (web surfing), and not just as a result of visiting random or specific websites.
Researchers from the University of California received even more curious data. They selected a group of elderly volunteers - from 55 to 78 years old, who had not previously dealt with the Internet, and taught them the principles of working with the network. In total, the research participants spent on the Internet an hour a day for one or two weeks, using virtual search services and engaged in viewing various sites.
In the process of the experiment, scientists several times subjected subjects to cerebral scanning. In almost all cases, resonant changes in the brain were noted. A surge of activity in areas responsible for language skills, reading, memory and visual abilities was recorded. Brain centers were also activated that are responsible for monitoring the decision -making and processes of complex reasoning.
This is very important, since in the process of aging in the brain structural and functional changes occur, neurons atrophy and reduce their activity, specific plaques are formed ...
In other words, the brain begins to work worse over the years, and this leads to consequences such as senile insanity, senile schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, etc. Thus, the use of the Internet is not only a means of improving the brain, but also the prevention of brain diseases!
Psychologist Ksenia Averina believes:
- The Internet is certainly useful for teaching people to work with information, which means to think. Mental processes, as you know, stimulate the brain. Those who are engaged in mental activity until a very old age are usually not observed.
At the same time, according to Ksenia Averina, it cannot be concluded from this that working at the computer is useful for the body.
- If you spend too much time behind the monitor, a variety of health problems may appear - visual impairment, osteochondrosis, diseases of internal organs associated with a sedentary lifestyle. It is not worth dating this from accounts.
In addition, you can argue about the dubious benefits of computer games or watching porn sites, especially for teenagers.
I see nothing good even in a situation where a person goes headlong into virtual reality and loses its connection with reality. Often you observe the picture: evening, all family members - both parents and children - sit, buried in their monitors. Of course, there can be no talk of normal family communication. This is repeated from day to day: breakfast - work or study - dinner - computer ...
As for the benefits of the Internet, indeed, its structure itself is such that our brain is constantly forced to strain in order to isolate the necessary information. Therefore, working on the network, we train it smoothly.
However, this has only an indirect attitude to computers. From the research of foreign scientists, we can conclude that the Internet is the only panacea from a decrease in brain activity. Whereas there are numerous types of intellectual activity outside the computer and virtual reality.
Yes, at the beginning of the XXI century, it is difficult to imagine our life without the Internet. This is the fastest way to get information. But do not forget that there are still paper books, libraries, archives, finally, various fields of scientific and creative activity. And believe me, their effect on the brain is no less beneficial!
Think, analyze, create - and you can always maintain your intelligence at a high level.

Vision deterioration due to constant work at the computer is about the bottom from the biggest problems of our time, but soon it can disappear. American scientists have found a way of simple, but effective decrease in eye fatigue.

Researchers from the University of Texas invented a simple strategy called "20-20-20-20". The bottom line is that a person working at a computer must take a break every 20 minutes and consider objects located from him at a distance of 20 feet (about 6 meters) within 20 seconds. In this case, it is necessary to blink about 20 times.
The effectiveness of such exercises is very simple. Blinking is a natural way to maintain the surface of the eye wet. Doctors advise doing such exercises not only for regular computers to computers, but also to all those who want to maintain their vision for a long time.

A new exercise helps prevent dryness and fatigue of the eyes, headaches, pain in the neck and joints. Usually, discomfort in the neck and headaches are unstable due to overvoltage, but for many people this becomes an everyday problem, leading to daily use of painkillers and the need to consult doctors. Those who spend three or more hours a day at the computer are most at risk.
The "20-20-20-20" strategy at first glance may seem quite strange, but American scientists are sure that their technique works. It is noted that these exercises for office employees are especially important, which are spent most of the time in computers in rooms with dry and cold air from the air conditioner.

Moving to the small American town of Green Bank in the state of West Virginia, where Wi-Fi and mobile networks are prohibited, American scientists called a tool from a new type of allergy.
Recently, more and more people who complain about the fact that a constant stay in the Wi-Fi and cellular networks is poorly affected by their health has been applied to their health. The doctors were surprised to learn that from wireless networks you could become infected literally to everyone - from migraine, colds and pain in the joints to partial blindness.
Suffering "allergies" is recommended to spend more time outside the house and more often get out into nature - in mountains or deaf forests. However, according to the "allergies", this helps, but only temporarily.
As a result of research, scientists decided that you can get rid of the negative reaction of the body to Wi-Fi in the city of Green Bank. And all because next to the village is one of the world's largest space radio telescopes. The presence of wireless communication networks nearby is dangerous for the functioning of expensive equipment.

Now the city lives in 143 Wi-Fi refugees. That is how the locals call people who came to Green Bank “for health reasons”.

French inventors have developed wallpaper designed to block the Wi-Fi signal. At the same time, the new invention does not interfere with the work of ordinary cell phones.

The wallpaper is made using conductive ink, which contain silver crystals and block the radiation of a Wi-Fi modem or router. The device will work as usual, but its signal will not spread further than the wallpaper. So far, only a prototype has been created, but the researchers of the Institute of Technology in Grenoble hope for the start of sales of unusual wallpaper at the beginning of next year.
It is worth noting that such developments were carried out before. For example, in 2004, the contractor of the British Military Department had already created wallpaper blocking Wi-Fi, but their widespread use was impossible due to a very high cost-about 500 pounds per square meter. French scientists hope that their invention will cost at the level of ordinary wallpaper.
Unfortunately, for the complete protection against the distribution of the Wi-Fi signal, you will have to glue not only the walls, but also the floor with the ceiling. In addition, doors and windows will skip Wi-Fi, but then Grenoble experts promised to help by releasing a transparent version of an unusual product in the future.
The scope of such wallpaper is not entirely clear, but for sure they will help people suffering from "Wi-Fi Allergies" .
