Without surviving two weeks before his 91st birthday, Oscar Feltzman died. The last of the great. There were actually only a few composers who created the Great Soviet, Russian Song Culture.
At the end of his life, he admitted in one interview that in Soviet times more than his copyright deductions was received only by Dunaevsky. The copyrights were paid by the place - for each performance. She sang and knew his songs, and - most importantly - the whole country loved.
“The motor ship” is the hike Leonid Utesov, “My Black Sea”, “The Song in a Circle Was”, “The White Light has gotten off on you ...”, “The Wreath of the Danube”, “The Manger” ... Well, of course, the “lilies of the valley” is a super -hut that made it famous and which for 23 years canonized as a hymn in vulgarity and philistinism without ceasing. One of the few Soviet songs that became a hit on the world stage - from Japan to America.
And there was another anthem - space. For the sake of him, Felzman was even given a state secret. They called from the editorial office “Good morning” (the sign of this one of the most popular programs of the Soviet radio - “Sunday, the Day of the Fun ...” - wrote too) and, under a terrible secret, they said that the day after tomorrow they would launch an artificial satellite of the Earth - they needed a song.
- And the words? he asked.
- We have hired one boy to work, he says that he can write.
The boy was Vladimir Voinovich, who on the phone dictated to the famous composer "On distant paths of distant planets ...". The satellite flew under this song, then all the Soviet astronauts sang it.
History spun around him since childhood. He was born in Odessa, on a small Arnautskaya, glorified by Ilf and Petrov with one phrase. The felzman’s musical talent is hereditary: a father, a famous orthopedic surgeon, played perfectly and composed music. At five, like any intelligent Jewish boy in Odessa, he was taken to audition to the famous Stoylansky, and Stoylya himself began to teach his violin. And after two weeks he refused to continue.
- Boy, do you not like how I teach you? - the great teacher was surprised.
“No,” answered Kadik (that was his name in childhood), “I just want to play not standing, but sitting.”
“Ah,” Stolyarsky guessed, “then take him to Bert ...
Berta Rangbald raised many brilliant pianists, among them Emil Gilels, who somehow formulated what was needed in order to become a great musician: “First, to be born in Odessa. And secondly, to leave on time. ”
So at five, Felzman became, not a violinist, but a pianist. And composer. At six he composed his first musical play. Then he began to perform with her. When he was ten, he arrived in Odessa Shostakovich told about the boy Kadik, who composes wonderful music. "And when does he agree to meet me?" - asked Shostakovich.
Feltzman left on time - to the Moscow Conservatory. He also performed a student on a big stage. He composed classical music, then operetta. His first theatrical work is the music for the play “Nechae” (“Revenge”) at the Jewish Theater of Belarus, evacuated to Novosibirsk. But the main fame brought him songs.
For him, Robert Rozhdestvensky, Andrei Voznesensky, Rasul Gamzatov, Mikhail Tanich, Mikhail Ryabinin, Lev Oshanin, Mikhail Matusovsky, Evgeny Dolmatovsky, Mark Lisyansky, Igor Shafaran, Yuri Garin ... he wrote to the verses of Marina Tsvetaeva, Khaima Nahman Byalika ... his songs sang to the poems Joseph Kobzon, Vladimir Troshin, Muslim Magomaev, Edita Pieha, Eduard Hil, Valentina Tolkunov, Yuri Gulyaev, George SV, Lev Leshchenko, Oleg Anofriev, Maria Pakhomenko, Leonid Serebrennikov, Alla Ioshpe and Stakhan Rakhimov. He brought to a large stage Irina Allegrova, David Tukhamanov ...
In this country there is no man who would not know his songs. He himself was engaged in his favorite thing that he chose from childhood, handed his talent to his son (Vladimir Feltzman - an American pianist), learned his lifetime glory, had many friends, easily and fun spent a lot of money, and most importantly - brought a lot of happiness to people whom he did not know, and would still bring ... a wonderful fate.
