A short conversation was held with the director of a regular comprehensive school, in which my eldest daughter is studying. So, like along the way, "nothing." It turns out that now an electronic journal is being introduced at the school, which “facilitate life”, in particular, for example, now the computer will display an average arithmetic rating for a quarter, half a year, etc. Previously, as it was: I didn’t learn, say, by heart the poem, the teacher puts you “2”, and then you will retake it in a week, they put it “5” nearby, and then when deriving the final mark “Two” is no longer taken into account, although it is in the journal. (They didn’t even put the “2” in my school’s school, they put the so -called “point” - the debt.) It was also with deuces for control or unfulfilled homework. Now it will not be possible to erase from the computer "2", it will appear when calculating the mean arifmatic. Naturally, this will affect the final "performance." But this is not the main thing- the incentive will disappear at all to “correct”. And it’s so difficult to explain to the child why to understand misunderstood topics and re -take them, now the motivation will suffer at all.
Against the backdrop of this short discussion, my remark is that it is somehow unfair to calculate the arithmetic mean arithmetic in principle. The director simply did not understand: how else to display the final assessment? It seemed to me that I and my students, abandoning the five -point scale, live in a different reality. In my opinion, it is logical to put the final that mark (if at all), to which the child eventually came. For example, there was literacy on "2", a month later on "3", then on "4", the final dictation wrote on "5" - so you need to put "5"! But if, according to the rules of the school, calculate the average arifmatic, it will turn out 14/4 = 3.5. And this is a "three plus" or "four with a minus." Are the final knowledge rightly evaluated?
