Now preparations for May Day are in full swing.
The organizers of the event are the State Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Administration of the Municipal Municipality "Syktyvkar", the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan and our organization. All these data are taken from the draft work plan for 2013 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, signed by Yu.V. Lisin and handed over to us for review by S.L. Geraimovich back in February.
Everyone on the list of organizers is quite natural - the administration cannot help but participate, since “Mayovka” is a city event, nothing can be done without them, the State Council in its structure has a whole committee on natural resources, environmental management and ecology, and it’s probably not for nothing that the Ministry of Natural Resources included itself as organizers in the Year of Environmental Protection.
With us, everything is generally clear - at the beginning of the year, when drawing up our work plan, we decided that such a massive and effective environmental initiative simply had to become an annual event, and included it in the plan of our “Clean Republic” subbotniks.
At the moment, both the administration and the State Council are very actively involved in the organization of May Day, with their help many organizational issues are resolved, prizes, equipment, etc. are sought. We also expected activity from the Ministry of Natural Resources. Then we decided to remind them that they had appointed themselves as co-organizers of the event (anything can happen, the work plan is actually huge, maybe there was no time for that). And Sergei Leonidovich offered to contact me if necessary.
The answer came.
I would like to thank the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan for understanding the situation and responding promptly. Thank you for the information support offered to the organizing committee. But we consider it necessary to abandon it - the organizing committee of the Mayovka organizers includes the largest electronic news agency BNK, which has been providing information and other support to the event from the first day. It is very pleasant that employees of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection are ready to take part in the action. We hope this is voluntary. May Day is a city holiday and we consider it unacceptable to force people to attend it on their legal day off. It’s better to let 100 people come, but of their own free will, than 5,000 under duress. Due to the lack of organizational work to hold the event, we suggest that the Ministry remove itself from the organizers and simply participate in our city environmental cleanup-holiday “Mayovka”.
