The General Director of Gazprom Prevycha Shelf LLC Alexander Mandel admitted that the Russian industry is not ready for the production of equipment necessary for the development of shelf deposits.

He stated this, speaking at a conference held in Murmansk as part of an international business week.

The head of the leading shelf of Gazprom was forced to state that Russia depends on foreign suppliers of equipment and technologies.

As a striking example of the inability of Russian enterprises, Alexander Mandel brought such equipment to the Prirazlomnaya platform. In the process of its construction, Sevmash had big problems. Currently, the platform is towed to the same deposit in the Pechora Sea. However, she is still idle. It is expected that production will begin no earlier than the fall of 2013.

According to Mandel, the opinion that the implementation of marine projects occurs quite quickly, erroneously. So, 80% of the equipment on the Prirazlomnaya platform at the field of the same name is a marriage that has to be returned back.
