The topic of apology in the post -Soviet reality has semantic cultural burden.
It is believed that an apology is an apology - a weak person, shy, he does not restore honest relationships, but on the contrary loses his face, and his alleged guilt is not facilitated by the fact of an apology, but only proves, and indirectly aggravates. Its sincerity is not assumed, but it means only his self -interest and the desire to continue criminal acts through dullness of the vigilance of what they apologize before. The believing apology is considered a gullible fool, so forgiveness is possible only conditionally, in fact, he remains on his guard and takes measures to ensure that the punishment of the guilty in some form lasts, of course, to the extent that it does not cause damage to the interests of the one to whom the apology is apologized.
The post -Soviet person himself in all situations does everything possible to get away from apology and goes to them only in the face of obvious possible damage to his interests (punishment). After the apology, he illogically continues to insist on his innocence, or even proving the fact that the victim himself provoked him. Hence his mirror judgments set out above in the first paragraph.
This is the root of the bickering around the statement of Erdogan (including motivation to diminish the meaning of his message).
