UFSIN celebrates

Today, employees of the penal system celebrate their professional holiday. 134 years ago, in 1879, Emperor Alexander the Second issued a decree on the creation of a prison department.

Now in special. institutions controlled by the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Murmansk Region contains about 6,000 people. This is 750 convicts less than last year. The statistics are unchanged - 50 percent of all convicts who are in the colonies of the Murmansk region are sitting for repeated crimes. The employment of all those who fell into places of imprisonment is in the priorities of the Federal Penitentiary Service. For example, now 60 percent of the sewing production turnover in IR No. 16 is a state order. Also in the immediate plans of the UFSIN polar employees - the creation of a specialized correctional center in apatites.

- The conditions of the correctional center are the work of convicts tied to production. But, since the state is not yet ready, they postponed for a year. On January 1, 2014, we will launch this center, ”says Alexander Kudrin, the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Murmansk region.
