Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha
Today is the first day of Eid al-Fitr (Eid al-Fitr) celebration. This is one of the most ancient Muslim holidays, which is celebrated in honor of the end of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan. Over the past month, believers have refused to eat or drink during daylight hours.
On the first day of Eid al-Fitr, services are held in mosques, the imam asks Allah to accept the fast of believers and give prosperity. Muslims also pay alms to Sadaqat-ul-Fitr. It is received by poor people directly or through Islamic charities.
In honor of the holiday, days off have been declared in the regions of the North Caucasus: in Dagestan and Ingushetia - from April 10 to 12, in Chechnya - from 9 to 11. In Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia, the only non-working day is April 10.
