Martsan is a district that occupies most of the Eastern Berlin, about 110 thousand people live there. The area is considered migrant and very popular among immigrants from the post -Soviet space, it attracts people with social housing and the already created community of Russian -speaking residents. Martzan looks like one of the sleeping areas of Moscow: tram tracks and panel multi -storey buildings, among which the wind walks. In the Quirry community, Martsan has a bad reputation, the district is considered one of the most homophobic in the city. For the fifth year in a row, the organization of Quartera, which helps Quir-Person from Russia to migrate to the EU countries, has been choosing Martzan for a small pride, numbering several thousand people. According to the employees of the organization, Pride is not only fun and bright outfits, but also a powerful social message that helps to increase the visibility of minorities.

Despite the rain, people began to gather at the intersection of Poelchastraße and Bruno-Baum-Straße, where the Pride started. About a hundred policemen (some of them-Quir-Persons themselves) ensured the safety of the participants. Pride has long gone beyond the Russian -speaking community and is not positioned as Russian, but most of the participants are still Russian -speaking. The Berlin Quyr-Commerite of Natives of the post-Soviet space is one of the largest in Europe, and it is important for people to have their own event that contributes to its strengthening and growth. “We were still promoted here on German television yesterday, so we are waiting for the full international. I think there will be a couple of thousand people, ”said one of the organizers, activist Quarteera Katya.

Gradually, the gloomy intersection was filled with rainbow flowers, the movement was blocked and a truck rolled out onto the road, followed by the crowd. The procession moved through the area. Passers -by stood on the sidelines and shot the pride on the phones. Someone has a surprise on the face and sincere interest, and someone has discontent. A person passing by a stroller said in English: “That is Crazy, Unacceptable, They Shoup Not Be Here.” The cyclist shouted “fag” and spat on the ground.

From the columns, Shura sang his hits of the 90s. The delay joined the procession, the crowd has grown significantly. Residents of the district watched the procession from the windows of their apartments. The final point of the procession is the Victor-Klemper-Platz area, musicians and quire activists performed here.

This year, Pride did without brawls. The guys from Quarteera said that last year the right came to the event and provoked the participants, but it did not last long: they were twisted directly in place in the rainbow flag.

“For those who drove here only this year, this is probably a real shock, because this is a completely unobvious place for such an event. I would like to change this, and so that the locals remember us good in my heart. It is important to understand that acceptance makes people better, makes their area better and more beautiful, ”says one of the leading processions of Dominic.
