"Lake" (France, 2008). Directed by Philippe Grandrier. Starring Vitaly Kishchenko, Dmitry Kubasov, Natalie Rekhorova, Alexey Solonchev, Simone Weselman and Arthur Semaj. A metaphysical parable, the action of which takes place in a certain unnamed location (in fact, the film was shot in France and Switzerland, but with Russian actors), on the shore of a northern lake. A family lives there - two brothers (one of whom suffers from seizures and is painfully attached to his younger sister), a sister and a blind mother (there is also a father who appears infrequently). But at some point, someone else appears in the closed world of these difficult people. “Why men never listen and women don’t know how to park” (Germany, 2007). Directed by Leandre Hausmann. Starring Jessica Schwarz, Benno Fuhrmann, Thomas Kretschmann, Tom Schilling, Matthias Matzschke, Annika Kuhl, Nadja Becker, Lars Rudolf, Katja Flint and Steffi Kunert. An educational comedy about gender relations, based on the best-selling book by Barbara and Allan Pease, which argued that all the differences, relationship characteristics and properties included in the title are inherent in men and women for purely neurobiological reasons. This theory is examined using the example of the average Katrin, who hits the car of the no less average Jan with her car in the parking lot. “Kind People” (Russia, 2009). Directed by Alexey Karelin. Starring Tatyana Yakovenko, Alexander Chevychelov, Nadezhda Markina and Alexey Bagdasarov. "The Human Body" (UK, 2001). Directed by Peter Giorgi. Featuring Herzer Pike, Buster Pike, Zannah Lawrence, Luke Brinkers and Robert Winston. A forty-minute journey through all the possible cracks of the human body on a screen the size of the notorious seven-story building (until now, this BBC film was only available on licensed discs). With extraordinary ease you find yourself either inside the “comrade of the heart” that has not stumbled halfway, then inside the lungs, then in the gastrointestinal tract. An excellent attraction that has little to do with cinema (except perhaps to popular science, a sort of TV biology lesson in high school), but it will chill you to the bone. “M+F” (Russia, 2009). Directed by Alexander Chernykh. Starring Nelly Uvarova, Grigory Antipenko, Ilya Isaev and Irina Nizina.
