Nuage Vert “Green Cloud” CO2 emissions backlight

The French duet Hehe (Helen Evans and Heiki Hansen) created a greater installation in one of the industrial regions of Helsinki. They believe that eco-consciousness is characterized by 2009 as a whole.
The installation uses lasers to project green illumination on the issue of the pipes of the Salmisaari electric station. Illumination adjusts its shape to the contours of the steam emanating from the pipe, thereby reflecting the consumption of electricity of residents of the Ruolahti districts and the neighboring Lautasaari.
Over the course of a week, residents of local regions were asked to consume less electricity and turn off electrical appliances from sockets and then showed how a green cloud grows as it was growing.
Hehe explains the reason for choosing a place of installation: "No other space, network, society could better reflect the city and its activity as a whole."
The height of the pipe is 155 meters.
In May 2008, Nuage Vert, 01sj Green Prix for Environmental Art was awarded at the second ceremony of the 01sj festival in San Josa. In June, the project won 2008 ARS Electronica Golden Nica .
