An unusual lot has appeared on the American online auction eBay - a piece of paper with the real name of the artist Banksy . The seller is an American, hiding under the pseudonym jaybuysthings. It has been listed on eBay for a long time, and this is not the first lot. For all other lots, customer reviews were extremely positive. In the lot description jaybuysthings wrote the following:
“ If you win this auction, I will mail you a piece of paper with Banksy's real name on it. I discovered his identity by matching sales of his work with tax records. I won't reveal any more details. The winner of the auction will be the only person in the world with whom I will ever share this information. Only the name will be written on the paper and not a word more. I give you a 100% guarantee that this is the most likely name for Banksy. The previous auction was closed by eBay itself due to the fact that I was selling something “intangible”. Now it's a physical object ."
By holding an auction, the successful detective gives Banksy himself the opportunity to buy back his anonymity. However, it is possible that the seller himself is Banksy or his accomplice. The starting price of the lot was 3,000 US dollars. Now, after the 38th bid, it has increased to $999,999.
UPD: The lot was removed from the auction again for an unknown reason. Perhaps it will appear in the seller's profile again.
