Chicago police arrested a student with grenade launcher and hallucinogenic mushrooms

The police of the American city of Chicago (Illinois) announced the arrest of a 29-year-old student of the engineering faculty of local university Michael Petrelli. During the search, the detainee found a grenade launcher, machine gun and gun, as well as cartridges for weapons, NBC television company reports.

The student, after the appearance on Tuesday in the Chicago court, where he was charged, was released on bail of 250 thousand dollars.

According to police, the detainee also found a package with hallucinogenic mushrooms. In addition, at the time of arrest in his room, a young woman was found, who was lying on the sofa.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, and the student explained to the police that he was forced to connect her in order to stop convulsions caused by the use of mushrooms, RIA Novosti reports.

The authorities are investigating the circumstances of what happened and try to establish the origin of the seized weapons and ammunition.
