Volgograd student, Alexandra Kraeva, was awarded a monthly scholarship named after A.I. Solzhenitsyn for her remarkable creative activity in the literary field.
This scholarship was established in April 2009 in pursuance of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on August 6, 2008 “On perpetuating the memory of A.I. Solzhenitsyn” and decides to annually award ten personal scholarships to full-time students of institutions of higher professional education. Scholarships are awarded annually, starting from September 1, 2009, each in the amount of 1,500 rubles per month, for outstanding achievements in journalism, political science and literary creativity.
Alexandra Kraeva from Volgograd writes poetry while studying in the fifth year of the philological department of the Volgograd State Social-Pedagogical University. Last summer, she sent her work to a competition in Moscow - and unexpectedly, “Poetic Complex of the Sea” helped Alexandra become a laureate of this scholarship. Although the money is small, it will still help with her studies and trips, to seminars and conferences related to her scientific work, which are not free now, the girl believes.
Outwardly, Alexandra is similar to the romantic and tragic Turgenev girls - carefully styled curls, aristocratic pallor, delicate facial features - the spitting image of Asya from “The Noble Nest”. She is making a lot of plans for the future - first it is necessary to strengthen inter-university diplomatic ties (in May she will go to the Cyril and Methodius readings, held annually in Moscow, at the A.S. Pushkin Institute of Russian Language). Such trips are promising for the entire region in terms of literary development, and access to the international level will be of even greater benefit to the region.
In the year when we celebrated 55 years since the beginning of teaching Russian language and literature in Spain, Alexandra attended a conference in Granada, and considers this trip a good entry into the international arena, and hopes to take part in other similar international conferences in the future.
The leadership of the literary department of VGSPU, where Alexandra Kraeva studies, considers her success to be quite natural and expected, and the fact that the girl received this scholarship is further confirmation that “Volgograd University and the Volgograd region have reached a decent level of education.”
After graduating from university, Alexandra Kraeva plans to work at a university and complete graduate school. And the teachers from her educational institution joke that she needs to marry Pushkin - and then they will have Alexandra Sergeevna Pushkina at their university.
