"Artist of life, architect of dreams." Alexandre Benois di Stetto. The Russian-Swiss artist Alexander Siegfried Burchard Levi Benois di Stetto (1896-1979), painter, graphic artist, master of design, decorative and theatrical arts, architect, is called “the forgotten one of the Benois dynasty.” His early departure to emigrate in the early 1920s did not give him the opportunity to publicly declare himself as an artist in Russia. From that time on, his formation and creative life were connected with Europe. For the first time in Russia, the master’s works were exhibited in 2006 in St. Petersburg.
