| Zhirinovsky offered Anpilov a place in the LDPR trio The leader of the Labor Russia movement, Viktor Anpilov, seriously thought about Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s proposal to enter the top three of the LDPR party list in the State Duma elections. “What do I have to lose but my chains? - Mr. Anpilov told the correspondent of the newspaper Vremya Novostey. - Everything was taken away. The Ministry of Justice did not register “Labor Russia” as a party, Zyuganov ignored our movement, and did not agree to a broad coalition with us.” Moreover, the leader of the radical left repeatedly appealed to the chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation with a proposal to include his candidacy in the top three of one of the regional lists of the Communist Party, but never received a response. At the same time, the leadership of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation included the leader of the Russian Communist Workers' Party, Viktor Tyulkin, on the federal list (previously, Tyulkin and Anpilov led this party together).
The example of Mr. Zyuganov was followed by the collector of patriots of the Russian land, Sergei Glazyev. He also did not invite Labor Russia to his new bloc. And Zhirinovsky, according to Viktor Anpilov, in addition to a place in the top three, also proposed putting other comrades from Labor Russia on the regional lists of the LDPR.
Director of the Center for Political Technologies Igor Bunin considers the possible tandem of Viktor Anpilov and Vladimir Zhirinovsky an indicator that left radicalism in Russia ended a long time ago, and it is time for its adherents to think about their own path. That is why, according to the political scientist, Mr. Anpilov’s friend and ally Viktor Tyulkin, as a person oriented towards Marxism and the study of theory, joined the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. “And Anpilov went to the same loudmouth, radical, populist, passionary like him - Zhirinovsky. It turned out to be impossible to preserve left radicalism; we need to look for a place for ourselves in political life,” Mr. Bunin told a correspondent for the Vremya Novostei newspaper.
On the other hand, the leader of the liberal democrats needed Viktor Anpilov. “Zhirinovsky has a good relationship with the presidential administration, he always votes the right way. After the elections, he becomes a man of the establishment. But when the elections begin, he can earn points and get elected only by spitting in the direction of the authorities, says Bunin. - And in order for the party to again acquire the features of a populist, demagogic, screaming party, Anpilov will come in handy. Zhirinovsky has few employees capable of shouting loudly and being street agitators. And Anpilov is another street agitator.”
Zhirinovsky himself spoke cautiously about his proposal yesterday. They say that we are not talking about a place in the troika, since in the LDPR there is no such thing as a troika at all. “A political party can have only one leader, just as there is one head of state,” the leader emphasized. And at the same time he called Viktor Anpilov “the most honest and pure of the left.”
