| Russian Post organized the delivery of free special envelopes for veterans of the Great Patriotic War Special envelopes “Letter from a Veteran 2005” were printed and handed over on the eve of May 9 by branches of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian Post” to local veterans’ councils for distribution directly to all WWII veterans in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory. As explained in the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Russian Post", they were manufactured by decision of the heads of communications administrations of the Commonwealth countries. About three million of them were made in Russia, and the veterans' councils will distribute three special envelopes to each WWII participant. Postal workers are ready to provide free assistance to veterans' councils in delivering envelopes to hard-to-reach settlements where veterans live.
“Letters from a Veteran 2005” have a special design, as well as a “Postage Paid” sign. This is enough to send a letter to any corner of Russia, as well as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. That is, there is no need for additional stamp stickers on the special envelope. You can send “veteran letters” for free until September 1, 2005.
Also this year, on Great Victory Day, postmen will deliver more than 7 million greeting cards in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Victory from the President of the Russian Federation to WWII veterans, home front workers and blockade survivors. Ilya SEDOV |
