| The Olympic Games can change Russia and leave the people with a rich economic and cultural heritage, strengthen the transition to democracy and relations with other states of the world. 90% of Russians support Moscow's participation in the competition for the right to host the 2012 Summer Games. The history of the Olympic movement is studied even in schools. More than five hundred Olympic medalists live in Moscow. The choice of the Russian capital will have the same positive impact on the rest of the world as the choice of Beijing as the host of the 2008 Games.
The basis of the application is the Moscow River: all sports facilities (five large complexes) are located along its picturesque banks, so the competition venues are not only beautiful, but also compact, which will enrich the experience of organizing the Olympics conceptually, and in practice will minimize the time spent moving between arenas. Every day, more than 60 thousand passengers will be able to take exciting boat trips between competition venues, enjoying views of the cultural and historical sights of the city. The Moscow River has more than 70 passenger piers. The Special Olympics fleet will be made available to officials, media and spectators.
To date, 71% of the necessary sports facilities for the Olympic and Paralympic Games have been built. Moscow offers the IOC a reliable choice: most of the facilities are already operational, and not just under construction.
Moscow has extensive experience in hosting world-class events. After the 1980 Olympics, the Russian capital hosted more than a hundred world and continental championships in various sports. Moscow can organize a memorable Olympic Games, the competitions of which will be held within the same city for the first time, which will ensure convenience and safety for all participants.
