An American KS-135 tanker crashed in Kyrgyzstan, not far from the border with Kazakhstan. As Interfax was told by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, the plane crashed in a mountainous, inaccessible area. Operational groups of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and firefighters are already working on the spot.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the wreckage of the plane that exploded in the air and caught fire is scattered over a large area. “There is a lot of debris. The search for the crew is now underway,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations said. A rescue team from the American Transit Transportation Center, which owned the crashed plane, has not yet arrived at the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, residents of the Merken district of Zhambyl region, before the fall the plane broke into two parts. Black smoke rises from the crash site.
