Glad to welcome you, summer people! I present you a special interview with a young and talented musician hiding under the name Maz 7
MAZ 7. - The project is behind which the producer and DJ Arthur Minnakhmetov, who managed to gather around the audience of people interested in the beautiful and deep sound of the new DeP and the progressive house of the school for such a small period.
Arthur cooperates and is produced on labels such as: Proton Particles (USA), Silk Digital Records (Rus) as well as Kickroach Recordings, Elektrax Progressive, Shanghai Recordings and Atlant Digital.
MAZ 7: "The main thing is to do what you like, then it will be honest!"
Bizzar: The traditional question that I must ask: what does the name of your project mean and how it appeared?
Arthur: The project appeared in 2007. Through combinations of various interesting words, I came up with a large number of names. As a result, he came to what he took, the capital letters of my initials turned out to be Maz7. The number 7 let it remain a secret.
Bizzar: At what age did you start to get involved in music and what kind of music did you like to listen to in childhood?
Arthur: As a child, I discovered a love of music, and a variety of styles and directions - from pop to house and trance of music. This love has grown into something more when I heard MIX - Comporation from Paul Okenfold called "Traveling". From this moment, my home collection began to be replenished mainly by the music of this direction.
Bizzar: Great work, I really respect the old "Perfecto" very much. How do you compose music? (Tell me what you are doing for this: software, iron, “synths.”) In general, tell us about the process and methods of creating
Arthur: I just write down my emotions or something. It seems that everything written is a reflection of all kinds of situations taking place in my life. Everything that happens to me is sometimes expressed in compositions. However, technically, the process does not look so attractive: most of the time I sit and improvise until I feel anything worthwhile. Next, I arrange a melody using a computer and various VST synthesizers. Some musicians admit that the style of music is affected by equipment at their disposal. There is definitely the share of truth in this. The tools available in the studio probably correct the sound. As for me, I try to make universal tracks. Use sound as an idea. I work with Cubase.
Bizzar: What feelings do you feel when success comes to you and when everything works out as it was conceived?
Arthur: He brings me moral satisfaction, inspiring new achievements. This is a kind of reward for the work done. Significant success, outstanding achievements are possible only due to hard, hard work, dedication, and refusing free time.
Bizzar: What are you working on now?
Arthur: Above the debut album. I hope you will hear it next year.
Bizzar: Excellent, I will be happy to wait for the promo J. Arthur to the work of which Russian colleagues you could especially highlight. Why?
Arthur: We have many talented people in our country. If we talk about professionalism, I can highlight such artists: Moonbeam, 4mal, Python, Yura Popov, Vadim Soloviev, Mango, Arthur Deep ... You can continue the list.
Bizzar: I know that you recently played in "4 rooms." How often do you manage to perform with DJs, or prefer to play at home parties in the company of friends?
Arthur: Not often. Now I plan to professionally engage in my performances at club venues.
Bizzar: Such a question, recently, among the DJs and musicians have been talking about the crisis of modern electronic music, in particular about the "virus" of mainstream music. How do you think these conversations are fair? And what forecasts could you give for the near future?
Arthur: Yes, there is no crisis. It’s just that many styles are mutated with time. We live in an era of computers, high technologies and electronics. All modern digital technologies make music more technological in sound. Maybe in it is less than the sincerity that was before, but it is beautiful in its own way. "Live performances" is the future!
Bizzar: Some musicians admit that they use torrent - trackers, file sharing and other ways to obtain illegal MP3. What do you think about this?
Arthur: I, as a musician, are not very pleasant to see on sale my music on various pirate sites. I think my opinion coincides with many professional musicians. I communicate a lot, with colleagues from Western countries and all as one and the same thing: earnings on the release of music is now much more difficult.
Bizzar: What from electronic music can you recommend listening at the moment?
Arthur: Well, it is very difficult to speak. In general, each direction in club music develops and sometimes transforms in one direction or another of the sound, but there has always been, there is and will be relevant music that touches, permeates the soul and makes you respond in motion. It seems to me that the relevance is now gaining “Progressive”.
Bizzar: Arthur, and in the conclusion of our conversation, I would like to hear from you a wish or instruction to young people who sometimes boldly call themselves musicians.
Arthur: The main thing is to do what you like, then it will be honest. And the main thing is that the creative process goes, so that it does not cease. In no case do not stop! Be yourself, believe in yourself and work a lot.
Bizzar: Thank you so much, Arthur! Success to you and creative realization!
