The Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of Russia, lawyer Pavel Astakhov, visited Tomsk this week. This institution of Ombudsman for Children's Rights was introduced in Russia in 2009. Astakhov became interested in the situation in Tomsk after two emergency situations - the brutal beating of a boy in Zavarzino by a police officer and an accident in Kargaska, also involving a police officer. Then 14-year-old Dasha Nesterova died in Kargaska. And so the Children's Rights Commissioner Pavel Astakhov came to Tomsk. However, he did not go to Kargasok, where the girl died. He also did not become acquainted with the boy who was injured by the police officer. But I visited several children's institutions.
