A police officer suspected of involvement in the sensational disappearance of five female students of the Altai State Technical University (ASTU) has been detained in Barnaul. The other day, near ASTU, he put a girl in his car and brought her to his home, where he tried to rape her. She managed to escape - she jumped out of a second-floor window and made it to the police station. The task force detained the rapist. This case was taken over by an investigative group led by investigator of the Prosecutor General’s Office Dmitry Shashkov, which is investigating the kidnappings of ASTU female students. The detainee will be checked for possible involvement in these incidents. Let us remind you that last summer five girls disappeared during entrance exams. All of them entered the main building of the university at different times, and were never seen again. The search was complicated by the fact that all the girls were visitors. Several months ago, the police already announced the arrest of a maniac, but then a message appeared that the detainee committed suicide by jumping out of a window during an investigative experiment.
