A brazen violation of election legislation is being prepared in the Amur Region. All the more blatant because the newspaper Amurskaya Pravda, the mouthpiece of the regional administration, publicly reported the upcoming violation.

The fact is that Nadezhda Babkina, a confidant of candidate Putin, is on tour in the Amur region. The actress sings, dances and generously alternates stage performances with fooling the public. For example, as a newspaper correspondent put it, Babkina spoke with the employees of the regional center hospital “for life.” And she said that she dreamed of becoming either a teacher or a doctor. And she became, as we see, Putin’s confidant. But this, of course, is not a violation of the law. Everything is within the rules, within the law.

But on election day (and Babkina is going to vote here using an absentee ballot), a “Farewell to Winter” concert is scheduled in the center of Blagoveshchensk. With free entry, festivities, pies, tea, competitions and other amenities. Among the “pleasures” is the performance of Nadezhda Babkina. In addition, on the same day, Babkina is scheduled to perform for the second time - in the largest residential area of ​​the regional center.

An artist’s performance on election day, even if it’s free, is not a crime in itself. Unless the artist starts direct campaigning. But any public appearance by a proxy on Election Day is certainly a violation.

We intend to contact the regional election commission tomorrow with a statement on this matter. But, knowing the attitude of the “Churov vertical” to such phenomena, we do not count on the effectiveness of our demarche.
