In 1911, the first settlers from the European part of Russia arrived on the banks of the Teguldetka and Chulym rivers, displacing the indigenous inhabitants - the Chulym people, who settled on these lands back in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Now in the Teguldet district there are only four hundred and thirty Chulym people left. Only a few speak their native language. One of them is Vasily Gabov. For several years he has been chronicling the Chulym people and dreams of organizing a Chulym language club.
