| The Ministry of Justice is preparing to celebrate the department's 200th anniversary on a grand scale. The anniversary will take place in September, but lawyers have already begun preparations. On Friday, a board meeting of the department was held dedicated to the anniversary celebrations. The purpose of the holiday, according to Minister of Justice Yuri Chaika, is to show the historical significance of justice in the lives of citizens, “to instill respect for law and law.” For this purpose, a whole list of events has been compiled.
First of all, the department approached the presidential administration with a proposal to establish Justice Worker Day. In addition, for the 200th anniversary, the Ministry of Justice plans to open two cadet corps in Moscow and St. Petersburg, which will be created on the basis of the Moscow and North-Western Law Academies. By September, commemorative souvenirs, postage stamps, badges and a Book of Honor will be issued, which will contain photographs and lithographs of all Russian and Soviet ministers of justice, accompanied by short biographical sketches. Anniversary booklets “200 years of the Ministry of Justice” and a reprint edition of the book “The Ministry of Justice for 100 years. 1802--1902. Historical sketch". A collection of basic normative acts of federal justice is being prepared for release. But the biggest gift for the Ministry of Justice should be the commissioning of a new ministry building that has been under construction for ten years.
No less valuable for the department will, apparently, be the government order, according to which the period for restructuring debt in all extra-budgetary funds for organizations of the Ministry of Justice system is extended from 5 to 10 years. Ivan MAGER
