Maxim is a former miner from the city of Mezhdurechensk in the Kemerovo region. He calls his son Sasha, who until recently all the time asked for pens, hesed and could not start growing. What to do and to whom to turn for help, the family did not know-and everything could go differently if the life of Sasha, the “artist” had not changed one day. When help came to them herself.

One doctor, one diagnosis

Sasha Stepanov is a gullible child. Not afraid of hospitals. Sasha has big blue eyes, and even when he understands that he was led to take blood, instead of tears in them, curiosity. After all, in the procedural office it is very interesting: the aunt-doctor has such cars, and she gives them to play. Aunt-doctor Sasha really likes.

Now Sasha is three and a half years. When a month after birth, my mother came to the children's clinic with him for a planned examination, the diagnosis of heart disease was first sounded. It was set by the work overloaded by the work and the only children-cardiologist for the entire Mezhdurechensk, but it was almost impossible to give an accurate answer to other questions without consulting other specialists.

In order to confirm the diagnosis and save Sasha, it was necessary to go to the regional cardio dispensary - 300 kilometers from Mezhdurechensk. But then it was not possible to go: two children, the father recently quit the passer in the mine after 16 years of work, there was not enough money.

The diagnosis was confirmed only a year later, when a children's visiting cardiological service arrived on Shakhtar's day in Mezhdurechensk. Sasha was examined, made an ultrasound, parents consulted by a children's cardiologist from the region. He explained that it was necessary to take the baby to Kemerovo, to the cardio -dispensary. Take it as soon as possible.

Operation

“Doctors in Kemerovo told us: you can’t pull, we need an urgent operation,” recalls Sasha’s father Maxim Stepanov. But Sasha was often sick: neither go or operate.

Once the family nevertheless arrived in Kemerovo. Sasha was just recovering after SARS again, but cardiologists did not dare to let his family go home anymore, fearing that they could not come again. Sasha was treated and set the date of the operation.

Then, in November last year, Sasha was put in a cardio -dispensary, but the quotas for the operation were already over. By the end of the year, it happens: two or three quotas may not be enough.

The family did not have money, I had to open a fee. As a result, Sasha was operated on, and the most difficult operation - a radical correction of the heart defect - paid for the post -fact. The operation was successful, and already in July Sasha will again go to Kemerovo, this time already for a planned inspection. By the end of the year, Sasha will be observed in the cardiocenter and undergo complex examinations. The new operation is no longer required.

Heart route

“I can’t even imagine what we would do without him,” says Maxim Stepanov, recalling the acquaintance with the Baby Heart Foundation. The Fund organized that trip to Mezhdurechensk and other cities of the region of the Cardiologist, which helped Sasha Stepanov receive a re -consultation of a doctor and confirm the diagnosis. The fund brought the Stepanov family to the Kemerovo cardiocenter, opened the fundraiser for the operation and again bring Sasha to the regional center in the summer, when the time comes to a planned examination.

The Fund launched the Foundation project three years ago to bring medical care for children from large and low -income families right to their home. The brigade, formed from doctors of the Kemerovo Regional Clinical Cardiological Dispensary, goes to remote areas for early diagnosis of heart defects in children. Parents will learn about the arrival of doctors in advance in local clinics and bring children to examination. If necessary, a team of cardiologist-resuscitators can deliver a small patient for treatment to the regional center.

Now Sasha is no longer tired of walking and running with other children in the yard. He really wants to go to kindergarten: he already went there a little, he liked it very much. Parents believe that it is too early now, only three months have passed after a difficult operation. Here in the summer - yes, it is already possible.

“There is no shortness of breath, it began to grow quickly - in a month one and a half centimeters grew up! Before the operation was thin, the weight was gaining poorly, now he recovered, ”says Maxim Stepanov. “Doctors told us that the child should completely recover, live a full -fledged life.”

The blue -eyed “artist” Sasha is only one of many children in families who live in the remote corners of the country and cannot receive the necessary assistance.
